Seeing those young men have such enthusiasm for antique farm equipment is awesome.

I'm one that would have enjoyed sitting at the tables that the ladies of those time set up to feed the thrashing crews…home grown and prepared with love and experience…a thank you to all farm wives and their hard work back at country home

It would be nice to see threshing machines of all eras running at the same time. The evolution of threshing.

Near me there is a "town" that holds a threshing event every year. The only reason I even know about it is because its a weird name I saw looking at another nearby town on google maps.

Why do they make the drive belts so long?
@simonrichard98736 жыл бұрын
Probably to reduce the risk of fire by putting any ignition sources at a safe distance
@randenpederson47846 жыл бұрын
That makes sense.
@stevedawson31626 жыл бұрын
And because they have to put a twist in the belt so the machine runs in the proper direction
@texasfarmer44135 жыл бұрын
Three reasons: 1. Less fire risk 2. Longer belt=heavier belt, which makes for better traction so the belt won’t slip 3. So there is room to pull a wagon full of grain bundles up alongside it.

Very popular here in Ireland many threshing shows this time of the year with vintage machinery, country folk reliving there youth, nice to see.

hate to tell those boys that hobby threshing might not help much with the ladies when they grow up, but that's shame on the girls not them
@mechanicojoe7 жыл бұрын
Thats hilarious. The farm boys always had girls before anyone else in my city school. They already understood what it took when you're not a privileged brat!
@tyfrank34277 жыл бұрын
I found that it didn't help with the ladies I wouldn't want to be with anyway. It took time but I ended up with a good one and all those spoiled brats that rejected me, I'm better off without anyway.
