Criss angel's tricks were mainly for publicity before the social media boom. In those times information wasn't as readily available. So he got away with most of his tricks...until now.

That is precisely why I dont consider him a magician but rather a fraud. His audience on screen are always in on it and he uses camera tricks. He couldn't do that shit in front of a live audience.

The very last trick was performed by Buster Keaton in Sherlock, Jr. back in 1924. Unlike in this video, where it was done with editing tricks, Buster Keaton performed the gag live, in real time with no editing of any kind; just a very clever setup and lots of rehearsal.

There are quite a lot of gimmicked cards that use tiny holes and invisible thread. There is a British magician who has invented many of them, and in addition, he will show you exactly how to make them yourself!

Anyone doing illusions that require video editing to hide changes to the setup - I’m looking at you, Criss Angel - isn’t any good at their craft. Only an illusionist who can perform a perfect illusion in front of a live audience is worth watching.
