I really like this one. Torn between this model and the SSK001 with black dial. No problem at all with hardlex for me. I've owned a ton of Seikos and never once scratched hardlex.

I'm a fan of Seiko before the big price surges. I have the Pressage Sharp Edge GMT as a daily beater. I went to the mall to see these Seiko 5 GMTs and was not really impressed. I think they need to ditch the relective crystals or do something to finally improve hardlex. Any watch with a hardlex is a no go for the money for me. It just made the watch very flat which is kind of a deal breaker when I have cheap Paul New homage from "Pagani" that has a better crystal and ceramic bezel and a Seiko movement. I've given that watch to non-watch people as a gift and they get compliments LOL. But your video gear really makes the Seiko 5 GMT look way better than what I saw in the flesh so good job... that's a first for me. But this is definitely not a bring the jeweler's loupe watch.

Thank you. For me personally, the hardlex crystal is not a big deal, as I am aware that a prestigious brand like Seiko would definitely have increase the cost is they had replaced the hardlex with something better.

Haha, worlds best affordable GMT watch? Look at San Martin oder Seestern or Sugess, you pay half the Price of this Seiko und get Saphire Crystal, NH34 inside, better Bracelett (screwed, micro adjustment without tools).

I have that watch Sam Martin is much better than Seiko and alot cheaper even though it's made in China
