What he said. Im a huge meat church fan and there's a difference between the gospel and holy gospel.

That was my mistake and the number one rub is The Gospel - All Purpuse Rub. It also might be number one for it has been out longer than Holy Gospel.

Confused. Which one do you prefer? The Gospel-All Purpose is the one I use. Is the Holy one better?

@@ufdalea I really like the holy gospel but don't get me wrong the gospel is really good too. You can't go wrong with either.

I wasn't a fan of sweet rub of mine. Wonder if you can layer Montreal with honey hog. That might pop

My personal number one rub is Montreal Steak Seasoning and like you I am not fond of sweet rubs.

So which rub is #1? Because the one pictured is The Gospel, not The Holy Gospel.

My mistake. It is The Gospel All purpose rub. So the picture is right but my words were wrong.

Holy gospel is good as well but the gospel is great

Because of the confusion, having called the Holy Gospel when it was The Gospel, I did some research and put this together to explain the difference. There are actually two different barbecue rubs from Meat Church BBQ that could be called "The Gospel": 1. The Gospel All-Purpose BBQ Rub: This is the original "Gospel" rub from Meat Church. It's a savory, all-purpose seasoning with a bright red color and a classic BBQ flavor with a southwestern twist. It's made with sugar, salt, spices (including paprika, dextrose, dehydrated garlic, and celery), and spice extractives. It's gluten-free and contains no MSG. It's versatile and can be used on beef, chicken, pork, seafood, vegetables, and more. This rub is highly rated and generally considered one of the best all-purpose BBQ rubs on the market. 2. The Holy Gospel BBQ Rub: This is a newer rub from Meat Church that blends the original "Gospel" with their popular Holy Cow beef seasoning. It has a kick-butt, southwestern-style smoke with a salty bite and a sweet tease. It's also made with sugar, salt, spices, and spice extractives. It's gluten-free and contains no MSG. It's particularly good on ribs, chicken, beef, and even burger stacks. This rub is slightly less common than the original "Gospel" but is still well-liked by fans of Meat Church BBQ. Hope this explains the two rubs and how they are different.

Sales is just one way to measure success. Most of these rub companies are not significant, so they do not have the money to promote their product. They have to earn customers by making a desirable product people want to buy and use.
