I’ve been in Hong Kong since 2012 and it’s metro is pretty good,and the people here are REALLY nice,once I saw some kids parent couldn’t get in time,so the kids were on the mtr alone,the people aboard stay with them until the parents arrived.

I have been fortunate enough to commute in Hong Kong metro for a good two weeks. They are on time as well as clean and in peak hours, they only have like 30 seconds gap between each metro train. I remember once the metro trains being already full and no one able to board. Within two minutes, there came a completely metro to clear the huge crowd that was waiting in the station I was and that was surprisingly super fast. Hats off to HK MTR and to all the Hong Kongers 🙏☺️😊🤗

Most metros in China are really clean and efficient like this. I lived in Beijing for six years. Took the metro countless times. I never got delayed even once (though a couple of times the trains were so crowded I needed to wait for a second or third train - not a big deal, they come every 2 minutes). I thought all metros were like this since I grew up in China, but when I moved abroad I realised most people didn't even know metros could be this good. It genuinely makes me sad people don't experience good public transit for themselves. It's a game changer.

Hong Kong's metro system is clean because there's no eating inside. The network is extremely extensive and the frequency is so good. I'm from Hong Kong and I just enjoy how quick the trains are.

As a HongKonger I can confirm our MTR is in fact amazing and convenient, and that we in fact have a fare rebate, glass doors, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
