This is another motorcycle adventure riding video in Argentina. It shows 2 routes around the little town of El Peñón. Carachi Pampa loop is an extremely beautiful track with moderate riding difficulty and perfect to get used to the riding in the Andean Altiplano. Laguna Diamante to Antofagasta is a serious adventure riding route, where one should be aware of the risks.

Thanks a lot. The normal tracks Carachi Pampa and Laguna Diamante should be fine. The shortcut Laguna Diamante to Antofagasta, we would only recommend with a really good offroad car and high clearance. There is one short section that is quite bad for a car.

I've watched both videos of Argentina. I'm traveling there in September and wondering about road conditions from El Penon to Piedra Pomez. I'm traveling on a Honda Africa Twin and am comfortable off-road, but bottomless sand on the big bike isn't so fun. What are your thoughts?

There are a few sandy parts to Piedra Pomez, but nothing super bad and you could also turn around all the time. So we would suggest to give it a try, since it's really a fantastic place. From Fiambala you could also ride to Paso San Francisco, which is a fantastic paved road. At about half the way to the pass is an offroad detour to Balcon del Pissis. It's offroad, but in a very good condition due to the nearby mine and also a stunning beautiful place. Check the weather conditions though, because this goes up to 4700m and there could be snow in winter. There are also many more amazing routes in that North-Western part of Argentina.
