World's Best Rides: Argentina - Crater Lake Corona del Inca @ 5500m (18000ft) Altitude - RTWriders

How high is the highest point you have ever reached with your motorcycle? For us, it's the fantastic crater lake Corona del Inca deep in the Argentine Andes at an altitude of ~5500 meters (18000ft). Corona del Inca is located in the La Rioja province, a bit northwest of the small town of Villa Union.
Yes, there are higher mountain passes in this world, but in contrast there is no road to Corona del Inca. At most, you can follow a few tracks in the sand - far from any civilization. In comparison to other regions in the South American Andes, there is a particular aspect to consider here in order to travel there without any issues. On the way to the crater you also pass the beautiful salt lake Laguna Brava.
Unfortunately, these video clips were shot with older equipment back then. Please excuse the somewhat lower quality ;-)

Wow I did Laguna Brava with a friend on march may 1 or 2 years ago, over route 76. We went with a guide that was leading a tour of people by cars. We did on our motorcycles. I think that for now is one most beatifull scenery i ve ever been. Godspeed !

Thanks - we had altitude-tested them at Mina Julia before. However, not only was it higher altitude at Corona del Inca, but also a much worse track. These small Hondas are strong little beasts.

Goodness, that must have been some piece of work! 😳 At 500 metres your little 250s won't even have enough oxygen to produce 20hp! Beautiful but tough! 💪 …not half as tough as RTW riders though, right? 🤗🤩

The little bikes are doing really well. They have a strong first gear, that brings you almost everywhere - slowly but reliably. And our new bikes haven even insane 27hp! We can ride to the moon next time🤣

Bonjour, oui - l'Argentine est l'un de nos pays préférés absolus. Nous sommes en fait originaires d'Allemagne. Nous avons finalement été trois fois en Amérique du Sud à cause de la pandémie de Corona - pour un total de 1 1/4 ans.
