Yes! His serves are totally effective, but also most of them are illegal because he's hiding the ball with his arm and body.

Most of them are legal to me and i'm a umpire, the opponent can see the ball in all steps of the serve.

@@Julottt you better return your licence then... last time I checked the ball should go straight up and down no left/right or back/forward, he starts to serve with ball almost at the middle white lane but hitts the ball at the corner of the table that aint legal its not just see it all the way... I dont exactly mind this sort of serves but hearing referee saying its all good makes me see red... in general with these serves hes showing it would be awesome if you guys(referees) had some sort of semi-over-head camera behind receiver, you cant say wheter their oponents see all of their serves or not

​@@frostyrjs Technically it is impossible to throw the ball perfectly straight and it doesnt need to be like this to be legal so it is at the umpire judgment, i wouldnt warn most of his serves just like most umpire didnt since he is a pro and it rarely happen, Lebesson serve is more illegal since he hide the ball with his head but thats borderline and not easy to see from the umpire point of view. However, sometimes he seems to hide the ball with his body right when he hit it but thats not easy to see especially from the umpire point of view.

Dan, Congratz on the commentating gig you've just got. Great work there. I have to say though, you could really improve your forehand power with some hip and shoulder rotation though (when you have the space). Watching 3/4 speed forehand drives are killing me and not putting your opponent under much pressure. Straightening the arm more is a option too but Mr Boll has proven you can get away with a bent elbow drive.

@@unnecessarilylongnam this is really not true. It's just this type of serve that tends to be hidden. It's the essence of the punch serve. Any regular pendulum or high toss serve cannot be hidden like that. And it doest work for backhand serves at all

I dont see how it is hidden most of the time and i'm an umpire, sometimes he seems to hide the ball with his body right when he hit the ball but thats not easy to see especially from the umpire point of view.

Dan also has a much more simple game to play agianst. He plays slow spinny balls, which is unlucky against an absolute prof who plays a sort of blocking/counterattack game lol. Tom played great either way though

When i play a TT match I feel quite nervous and anxious while playing, my legs tremble, heart gallops at a high speed and many things happen!! This also results in giving easy points to my opponent! How to overcome this thing please tell me ! 😄

You're afraid of making mistakes. Try this meditation. Do some deep breathing first, then close your eyes and say "I love losing" over and over. Do it for 15 minutes or longer. Relax and let go and keep saying it. Be open. This might sound backwards of what you should do but if you're successful the love can push the fear out. Love yourself. Don't beat yourself up if you lose or miss a point. Love yourself. You're doing your best.

I think you get it wrong or what. He was not hiding the ball. Only the ball very close to his body and he hide his blade, you only recognize the blade direction hit the ball when it hit. Not illegal, I think.

Tom did extremely well against Par's illegal serves and returned the majority of them. Tom was really competitive and did very well losing only 11-7. Bravo!! If Par's serves are so good, why is his ITTF ranking so low?

Cuz with a lone super serve you can‘t beat any top or pro players. His rating is a good display of his performance, which is still high. I suppose, the most subscribers won’t be able to get just one set against him, even if he wouldn’t serve at all.

A serve is only illegal if the umpire sees it and rules against it. The majority of top ranked players try to get an advantage any way they can if they can get away with it, like hiding the ball with their hand, arm, head, body etc. Life is not always fair!!

Too many illegalities :) Too obvious:- 1. The rule clearly requires the ball to be on one's open palm before toss. 2. The toss must be upward and contact point between bet& ball must be visible to the opponent.
