Can't wait to have mine tuned. Picked the bike up April 22 and had the first service completed. Already have an appointment at my dealer for June 3rd to get the Bren tuning done. That 2nd gear hole is dangerous.

Dealer doing a bt tune? No void of warranty?
@unclepunk1836 ай бұрын
@@lg740xx According to the dealership that is a BT-Moto dealer there would have to be proof that the tune caused the issue. I intend to keep the stock redline so I have no concerns about a warranty denial. They service many bikes with this tune and haven't had any issues with this tune being the culprit for a factory denial of warrantee.

@@unclepunk183rumour has it BT have been responsible for the engine failures on the M track bikes. They increased the rev limiter on their tunes & this was the cause of engine failures
@flavirufus6 ай бұрын
Got lucky and picked one of these up. Before I owned a 2015 s1000rr. Not remember any of the dropping power before 8k rpm. That restriction sucks. As soon as I hit 8000 RPM, it practically Launches. Before that, there’s that big lag. Thanks for the video and showing that you’re addressing this, will order my tune here in the next week or so.
@t3h8ar0n4 ай бұрын
@@lg740xx BMW cannot void your warranty just because you installed a custom flash/tune (or did anything else). In order to legally void your warranty, they must show that any modification you did was what caused the damage you are attempting to have them repair under warranty. Any language in their TOS/agreement etc. that says "warranty void if modded" or whatever is not actually enforceable per federal law... it is just there to scare you.

my bt moto mxr tune just shipped. woohoo! that second gear dead spot kills me. i try to stay in first gear much higher into rev range, so that, when shift to second gear, bike is above the dead spot. that dead spot is frigging dangerous. it acts like turbo lag. that massive rush of power unsettles the bike and wants to rip rider of the bike. thank for sharing video.

Do you think it will break 200 hp with a full exhaust and a filter?
@BT_Moto6 ай бұрын
Depends if it’s a happy dyno or not. It’s a RR engine so it would be in that ballpark, depending on the dyno.

If you look closely, you'll see that this mxr has a header on it. Bikes don't spit fire with the oem cat in place. This bike already has a full exhaust

You don’t need a dyno to feel second gear restrictions. The bike goes nowhere once you click into second. Wonder if it is noise regulations or something else they are trying to get around. Also curious about that torque map they mention in the manual. Did you ever dyno that map and do you offer” torque optimized “ map yourself ? Thanks.

We have a dyno video with the torque map. Check it out! We compare out mapping to that and stock.

Are you still increasing the rev limiter on BNW’s? I understand this has been the main reason why RR’s have been blowing up
@BT_Moto6 ай бұрын
No, the small amount raised is not the reason they blow up at all. Users can opt to keep the RPM limit stock in our questionnaire.
@Chris-vq5vr6 ай бұрын
@@BT_Moto but aren’t you creating too much centrifugal force that’s greater than the RPM can handle? You’re saying a small increase in the rev counter is negligible but I disagree. Most of the engines that have blown are track bikes & they have predominantly been on their first few laps. I believe also that most of these bikes had a BTune. Any increase would be amplified on the track. This is causing way too much centrifugal force that the pistons. bearings etc can handle or are designed to withstand. And this is why BMW is refusing warranty claims. It’s been happening predominantly in America.

@@Chris-vq5vr with 14 years of BMW motorcycle specific experience and thousands of hours of R&D with no failures as a result of our tuning, we’ll have to respectfully disagree. Bullshit, you might be doing the first civilian version on a dyno ( highly doubt it) I guarantee that BMW did this long before it was released. Flat AFR……what a bunch of crap, y’all would hate my R1 map. AFR was not used as the base line and I still have the o2 sensor…….closed loop is cheap, real tuning uses all available sensors and equipment to make the SMOOTHEST map in EVERY gear.
@BT_Moto6 ай бұрын
The video states sampling from the exhaust isn’t the most accurate method and will generalize AFR rather than exact it. Since we’re very familiar with the engine and platform, this is all we needed to verify our full time closed loop was working properly. Yes, pretty sure BMW did dyno it before us but this is the first third party tuning dyno we could find for the M1000XR.
@MrJayjay04203 ай бұрын
Split hairs much? Obviously they are talking about the first independent dyno test. Pretty obvious that the manufacturer that researched, developed, engineered and built this bike would dyno it. Thanks captain obvious
@MrJayjay04203 ай бұрын
Also your r1 uses a narrow band afr sensor. This bike uses 2 lambda wideband sensors, set target fueling and the bike adjusts itself.
