World's First Sodium Ion Powered Electric Skateboard

I modified an all-terrain electric mountainboard eskate to use Sodium Ion batteries! This has never been done before -- this is the world's first sodium ion powered electric skateboard. I go over the battery pack specifications including pack capacity & voltage, BMS, and the electric skateboard itself; and take it on a test-ride of course! So how did it fare? Find out in the video! I love innovating with new DIY builds & modifications; and pioneering new battery chemistries for use on PEVs like eskates--and seeing what they're capable of.

Very cool, you can solve some problems you’re having by moving to a VESC controller and bypassing your BMS for discharge, letting the VESC handle current limiting.

Bypass bms only use it for charging. Use a vesc it has higher voltages and also more programmability

That's the issue with them as different chemistries go sodium ion has too many cons. Lifepo4 is much better

I do actually have an LFP build in mind (check out my Community tab for a recent poll I posted with a list of projects.) LFP should actually be relatively flat in output throughout the charge!
