Thanks for the great nighttime footage of the island Asuncion. I was in Guam from 90 - 93, I was taught a simple method for trapping the coconut crab. Drill a hole in the more pointed end of the whole coconut, husk and all, and thread a rope through the hole, and knot the rope, then tie the rope to a tree at the top of the cliff by the ocean, and throw the coconut over the edge of the cliff. Check back the next morning, you will probably have a crab holding on tightly and trying to drag the coconut back to their den. I was successful, and the crab meat and the crab fat with peppers and garlic and onions and little butter was really great also.

I just wanted to thank you for these fishing videos. I loved to fish but was in an accident 12 years ago that left me paralyzed and unable to fish among other things. For years I've looked for adaptive fishing poles and there's barely anything out there and what is there is extremely expensive. Hopefully one day I'll be able to fish again. The reason I am thanking you is because your videos let me live vicariously through you, and to be able to enjoy fishing. So again, thank you!

Stephen, I say this as a cancer fighter of almost 14 years: DON'T give up. Medical miracles are happening almost daily. I don't know what your medical issue is, but there's someone working on it, somewhere, right now. If you can keep your mind healthy (and I KNOW how hard that can be!) your body will try to follow. If you follow Rob you know he believes in Jesus Christ. It's up to you to look into that or not, as you work your way through these issues. I've been fighting terminal cancer for 14 years in September. It's not been fun, but I've learned a lot. Keep learning, keep fighting, keep looking for the answers. I'm lucky enough to have been blessed with a wife that actually believes in "till death do us part". I hope and pray your family is able to help where needed. Hey, maybe one of these days you can teach me how to fish... all I can manage to do is drown a bunch of poor worms. At least I can say "no fish were harmed"!!! God bless, my brother.

Tony Bourdain admitted that many scenes are staged and that he found it tiresome and artificial. Like when you see the host go in to a tavern to say hello to someone behind the bar, and the shot is from over the shoulder of the bartender. Obviously the camera got there before the host, and it's been set-up in advance if not actually rehearsed. It's not always too bad, but a lot of people don't realize how completely common this is. Then again, some people believe "reality TV" and Jerry Springer type shows aren't set-up and WWF matches are real fights, so ....

Thanks for sharing your once in a lifetime experience. Although we live here in the Marianas, some of us have never been this close to the islands. Definitely always awesome watching your vids. Best shotgun view ever. You are doing amazing things sharing it with your family and most especially the world about the beauty of our islands. Thank you and stay blessed brother. Enjoy your awesome journey in the beautiful CNMI 🇲🇵 ❤🙏

“This is a wild coconut crab.” Domesticated coconut crab farms have a future some where.

I think there should be coconut crab crab farms for ppl that eat them. I think the wild Coconut crabs should be left alone.

Always interesting to see how indigenous populations make animal calls. Sometimes they are the same on opposite sides of the world. Fascinating. Love the colors on all of those Crabs. Even the deep blues and purples on those coconut Crabs. Also, sick fade, Rob!

Hahaha right. Us americans think we decide! If we say it, it must be true! I believe "the real name" is the name locals call it. They would know!
@Vykk_Draygo4 жыл бұрын
@@kpattenvan Nothing to do with Americans. It was named by Linnaeus, a Swede. Considering that Linnaeus died before America existed as a country, I doubt we had an influence on his naming scheme.

Well yeah you take a creature isolate it and give it an abundance of its food source ofc it’s gonna adapt and get bigger or smaller depends on what food supply you give it, it’s called natural selection
