A little more info about this place: The owner built because he said God told him to. He didn't have any plans, he just built as it came to him. That's why it's a bit of a maze and some areas aren't practical. It was used as a spiritual place for kids and teens. The owner was a youth minister and taught classes there. He endorsed people writing on the walls and stuff, leaving their mark. All he wanted to do was share this gift with everybody. I'm not a religious person by any means but I think it's really sad this place was shutdown. It's like something from another realm.

Whoever visits this place should really cherish that experience. Because it's made entirely of wood it certainly won't last very long, especially given that nobody's maintaining it. Something is eventually going to give way, and the whole thing is going to collapse. Seriously.

I get it. I would be the same way. My son, now 26, is HORRIBLE! He will run you over to get away lol If he's with you, it's every man for themselves lol Funniest thing that happened at my house was when we were trying to kill a huge behind spider lol I have no idea how it got where it was without us seeing it. It was on the wall opposite the tub. I stayed and watched it to make sure it didn't move while my son went for the spray and the vacuum. When he got back , I told him it hadn't moved, I mean I had my eye on that thing like you wouldn't believe! We're poking around where it WAS and nothing. My son gets on the side of the tub up where the shower head is and looking. Next thing I know he turns around facing the shower head and I mean he is face to face with that spider! This things leg span was as big as my sons face 😂😂 we about killed each other trying to get out of that bathroom 😂😂 even as scared as I was, I was laughing my butt off at my son 😂 I couldn't stop laughing, he was so pissed! He put his fist through his bedroom door 😂😂 said something about me being wrong knowing how he is about spiders 😂😂 I was laughing so hard, I don't even know exactly what he said 😂😂 normally, I would've been pissed about the hole in the door but, even now I just can't be 😂😂😂 the look on my sons face was totally priceless!! 😂😂😂

*When I saw this I flipped, I’ve visited there once with a church group. It was amazing but scary as hell, everything felt like it was going to cave in, it all swayed slightly. And the very top was breath taking in a good and bad way. It’s so high up and the stairs going up are so narrow and twisted. But it’s sad to see it’s abandoned, I didn’t even hear about it closing down. The chapel inside was so beautiful, it’s sad seeing it destroyed like this, it used to be a very popular place to visit.*

It was shut down due to public safety, the fire department had to shut it down because it was structurally unsafe. I’ve been there, I live a couple hours from it near Knoxville. It’s a beautiful place, but the rickety stairs and floorboards prove the reasons it was shut down. I enjoyed walking through it, took many pictures but it definitely felt unsafe.

@bisontyson43975 жыл бұрын
Jason Dewall 🤦🏻♂️ How is people’s safety crooked? It wasn’t crooked politics, it was literally unsafe. You can’t knowingly open something to the public, and not be government regulated. It was shut down, because it was so dangerous. I’ve been inside it, shits rickety and everything gives when you step on it. They told him what needed to be fixed, he didn’t want to change it so it was padlocked and restricted. There are places everywhere, everyday that get shut down because they’re unsafe. Houses are condemned, and crossville isn’t the only place where the good buddy system runs. That runs in every town, every city, every state, and every county. Is a hoarders house condemned because of crooked politics, or because of safety reasons? If someone had gotten hurt there while it was open to the public, the city could’ve had their asses literally sued off of them for knowingly letting people be inside it. They did it to save themselves, it’s not crooked, it’s human nature.

So they said to stop construction because it was a “hazard” but yet they allow it to remain their without someone caring or watching over it. I find this to ironic and stupid for them to shut this down I feel as if there were still people there it would pose less of a “hazard” than with people not being there. This angers me ! They spent blood sweat and tears building this and they let it rot it just shows how people can be rude.

On October 22, 2019, the treehouse and its supporting trees completely burned to the ground in an inferno lasting about 15 minutes. The fire department responded, however by the time they arrived nothing was left to save. Fire officials said there was no electricity on site and no electric storms. The recent new owner of the treehouse, who had no insurance, declined to open an investigation. Burgess said most of the marriages he officiated there had not lasted, and that he was relieved after the fire; the treehouse had "always been a pain" he said.

Actually, The guy who built this treehouse was told by God to build a treehouse with lots of floors. God said he would get the guy a wood and more wood until he finished it. It’s built around 7 different trees. He also had a stable there. A school was there and a chapel. When the chapel wasn’t in use there would be basket ball games. There were a lot of statues and many rooms. The bell was token out of the tower. There were locker rooms at the very bottom. He let people come and view the sight. There was a big parking lot now over grown. The government shut the treehouse down because it was a fire hazard.

It's almost got a magical quality to it, how it's constructed, and how anyone, doesn't matter if they are 5 or 80, can capture that sense of wonder and adventure of childhood. The guy who built it is a genius! It's not a tree house in the traditional way, yet everything about it feels like one. I hope they eventually win the battle to be allowed to reopen it. It's a treasure. Maybe there's some sort of wood treatment that could be applied to surfaces making it not as flammable? Codes suck :(

With no other way to regain control of the situation, James’s arm struck out for a deadly blow as the man could not be allowed to regain his feet.

That last spider wasn’t actually a spider Josh😂😂 they’re called Granddaddy Longlegs, and aren’t classified as an arachnid. They can’t hurt you since their mouths are so tiny, they can’t bite! Anytime I see them on my porch, I just grab them by a leg and place them in the grass lol so NEXT TIME when you see one, just know that they’re harmless! But side note: they are only poisonous to teeny tiny bugs, because their mouths are packed with poison, but as I said, they can’t bite humans! Peace

That was definitely a daddy long leg, and they aren't even spiders but commonly misidentified as spiders. :P If it has more than one body segment though (isn't just a chubby cute circle with legs), then it's a real spider, so beware.

Unfortunately wood doesn't last forever. And it will crumble and be destroyed. But until then. Enjoy this master piece.

If you end up coming to Washington state, Check out Northern State Hospital in Sedro Woolley, now its Cascades Job Corps(trade school) I went there from 2014-15, I did my research on the place before I moved there. It used to be an Insane Asylum, crazy shit went down there back in the day, its where the first Lobotomies started, I think in the US. Over a thousand unmarked graves all over the place. The catch is that there are security patrolling the grounds because of it being a trade school. But the old hospital buildings are still standing, but they wouldn't let us explore them because of black mold and asbestos. Do some research on it. Hope you explore it one day. Stay Safe✌

CAPITaLISM? or CAPIToLISM? spelled right or spelled wrong? PAY-renting? Is cap it all i sing more than one concept? of MA knee? Is capitalism actually supposed to be about putting caps on the economy? So money is more well shared? money is magic.. what kind of money are you making? soundcloud.com/srw/hanging-trust I made a copyright for this song that I wrote when was living outside and camping through the Winter in the Rocky Mountains.. I made a this recording of me singing the song.. The song is an opening for a musical show I created about a 2 band group.. The Water Hounds and the Beautiful Disasters.. The bands are Folk Rock style of chanting music that is "Christian Buddhist" influence.. The set is 3 parts as the Beautiful disasters open the show and the Water Hounds play the second set and then the 3rd set is made by both the groups play together like 2 records being mixed together in unison.. The Water Hounds are all male and the Beautiful Disasters are all female.. GOOD LUCK? This is a very progressive group and is more like a circus as an act.. The chanting is mostly of divine compartmentalized arrangements of quotes from the Bible and original works of creationism... kzbin.info/aero/PLKgy6fl61mPSF0bqQF7arueH0tkCbK1CR

I went here in 2010. That swing was a lawn chair attached to a rope. We all had turns on it and it was terrifying haha. When you made it to the top tower you could see the word JESUS cut out of the grass. I couldn't walk up the ladder to the bell either because I was way too scared.. not because of spiders because the tower was swaying and the wind was whistling through the planks. And it is so high, y'all. D: There a was a tee-pee he had also made that was a little ways from the fort. We sat outside of the fort at picnic tables to eat our lunch while we took turns on that swing. I remember getting lost at one point and truly panicking! It was all so beautiful. There was different pieces of art everywhere. The owner was so passionate about the place and sharing with everyone. I hate that it was shut down. I will say that there were some extremely sketchy parts where you have easily fallen through or even fallen over due to no guardrails, so it's also understandable that it was shut down.
