#Longest Passenger Train
A Swiss railway company (Rhaetian Railway) claimed the record for the world’s longest passenger train Saturday with a trip on one of the most spectacular tracks through the Alps.
The Rhaetian Railway ran the 1.9-km-long train composed of 100 coaches along the Albula/Bernina route from Preda to Berguen.
The route was designated a UNESCO World Heritage in 2008 and leads through 22 tunnels, some of which spiral through mountains, and across 48 bridges, including the curved Landwasser Viaduct.
The entire journey took over an hour. Rail enthusiasts lined the valley to watch the train’s 25 sections wind their way about 25 km (15.5 miles) through the Alps.
Rhaetian Railway director Renato Fasciati said the record attempt was intended to highlight some of Switzerland’s engineering achievements and to celebrate 175 years of Switzerland railways.

There were 150 invited guests riding the train, but only half way to Bergün, there, they had to get off the train and the train went on to the Landwasserviaduct

India has most express trains 20 to 24 passenger coaches on all trunk routes, not for show but for regular passenger services and all station platforms at all big stations and most smaller stations are long enough to accommodate the locomotive plus 26 coaches. All trains travel full.

Dachte ich mir auch. In Bergün machte der Zug einen 10 miütigeb zwischen halt und direkt davor ist ein Bahnübergang. Der Zug ist zwar ein paar 100 meter über den Bahnhof hinaus gefahren, aber das ende war vom Dorf aus immernoch nicht zu sehen. Der Zug brauchte nach der Abfahrt noch knappe 2.5 Minuten bis er aus dem Bahnhof raus war, wenn jemand dort einen Termin hätte, hätte er den definitiv nicht geschafft.

They actually didn't use the e brake, which was the reason they only drove at 20 km/h. Calculations showed that if they used regen braking the overhead cable would have melted.

I know this is a bit of a wind-up, but you are sort of right, as on the descent from Preda to Bergun/Bravuogn, the train goes through three spiral tunnels, on the right hand side of the valley as seen in the video, where it does go in a circle but loses altitude as it goes and comes out beneath itself. This is seen in some other videos of this train. This feature of spiral tunnels is usually only seen in North America where their massively long freight trains are long enough to cross over/under themselves. (Tehachapi, Williams and Kicking Horse for example) The final descent into Bergun negotiates two "horseshoe curves" one leg of which overlaps a lower leg.
