We had the opportunity to stay at the Presidential Office Building in Taipei Taiwan as part of the special program: Spend A Night @ Taiwan's Presidential Office Building. This program is the first and only of its kind and we were 1 of 10 groups invited by Taiwan's President, Tsai Ing-Wen.
We are taking you for the full exclusive experience, including a room tour, Presidential Office tour (off limits to tourists) and an awesome flag ceremony! Come with us for a never-before-seen experience of Taiwan's "White House".
A massive thank you to President Tsai, those at GACC and all those who helped with this fantastic program to promote Taiwanese hospitality & tourism. We will continue travelling to Taiwan and promoting it as one of the BEST countries in the WORLD for travel (and FOOD)!
Don't forget to subscribe to the main channel - / lukemartin

The friendly Vice President is a world famous epidemiologist. He used to be the Vice president of the Academia Sinica (aka Taiwanese National Academy of Sciences), the Minister of Science, and the Minister of Health and Welfare. (Thanks to the correction by Autumn C)

RB I would use “world famous epidemiologist” or “well-known scholar” to describe the Dr. Chen, the Vice President, instead of “academician”.

Amanda Sparkle Actually these are the Honour Guards of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Armed Forces (Traditional Chinese: 中華民國國軍三軍儀仗隊). They have inherited mostly the US style training. When they are out of uniform they just like us. That is why. I hope my answer helps.

You are overthinking it. In a English speaking country Taiwan and R.O.C. is very much interchangeable. People use Taiwan more simply because it just rolls of the tongue better. No different than people referring to the President of the United States of America simply as the President of America despite it is technically incorrect term (just like Taiwan is incorrect term). Now if we are a Chinese speaking country, then yes your concern about the green party tries to erase R.O.C. is valid.
