Today my 7 year old daughter tries Idiazabal from the Basque Region. One prize winner sold in 2014 for €13,050 for 1/2 a cheese. That's USD $14,639 for 1.3lbs making it a most expensive food!
This wonderful cheese is made from the unpasteurised milk of Latxa sheep exclusively in the Basque Region. It has a protected designation of origin. Our's was a gift from our lovely student, Naroa. Huge thanks to Naroa and her family.
