Does missile per tone displacement matter in the age of network centric warefare and you dont have ambition to project power any where in the world like USA. Indian Navy has only two task of fighting PLA Navy in Indian Ocean and be part of any global effort to counter PLAN in SCS for shipping freedom . Arresting Somalian pirate in Arbian sea atleast for me has no value and credit .

It does, coz the other fleets bring in more with more ships as well. The deficit in over VLS numbers always matters.

@@Battle-Machines those ship have 48 VLS , 16 for anti ship and 32 for SAM , in US warships case they fire 2 missile each for a single target , so if you compare with vishakapatnam they have equality of 96 ( 48*2) vls actually ( enough for 7500 tons ship ). And those destroyers use brahmos supersonic CRUISE missile not your regular tomahawk , they are most lethal and have fire and forget capability, whereas it's not very hard to intercept tomahawk or harpoons , our destroyer literally carry 16 brahmos each weighing 3 tons ( 5 times weight than your harpoons) , yea I agree they have less SAM but we are using barak 8 here don't forget that

@@Battle-Machines and most important every country makes it's weapons according to it's use not to outclass another country's weapons, in case of India our priority is totally defence so almost all the times our warships will be well protected through aircrafts and ground support SAMs because we aren't US or China who will go to another country to invade

@@Battle-Machines one thing I further like to add that those ship will be equipped with Nirbhaya ITCM ( similar to tomahawk ) and MRSAMs currently ground version of MRSAM is tested and ship version of MRSAm is in process
