The weakened Iranian military after the 1979 revolution fought Iraqis who were armed to the teeth, backed by the entire world including US who helped with many things including intel, weapons and strategy, used all types of illegal weapons including chemicals and yet Iran won the war and the only reason they didn't completely conquer Iraq was the fact that they willingly signed a treaty. Most people don't know that when the Islamic revolution happened those maniacs executed 13000 highly sophisticated military officers from Shah's military and got rid of many military assets. They got a lot more fast missile boats . The missiles on those boats are now reaching over 300km. That's nothing to do with soviet era missiles. They got ultra modern and a variety of antiships missiles that they developed domestically. They also got submarines and boats, capable of shooting torpedoes that only Russia and Iran have it, with speeds up to 400 km per hour. So they got much more sophisticated weaponry to sink any ships or aircraft careers with the range of at least 1000km. That was one of the main reasons why Teump decided not to attack Iran.
