There is a shot of the motor around 1:40. You can tell it's a VQ35 by looking at the CVCT sticking out of the aluminum timing cover with a single black plastic valve cover. The 24 valve VG's have a black plastic timing cover and two separate valve covers per head. The head is also pretty wide.

These motors are by far stronger than any LS motor or Ford motor. Yes takes a bit more to build but they are freakin buttetproof. I love my motor. Just take care of them and you will never have issues

I literally just upgraded air intake and ca back system on my VQ35 and it feels so much better than 180kw. So much torque all the way to whatever it stops at and it sounds fucking GOOD. Happily take on V8/V6 NA Commys or Fords - cept those fucking xr6 turbos. Underated engine. Oh and mine is CVT and it's faster than the standard auto trans VQ35 skylines

continue from other post, at 350 lbs thats what the vq35 weights complete, with flywheel, and clutch, full accessorys, minus just ac and a lightweight clutch/flywheel combo puts mine right at 300 lbs. the heads are also based on stock heads simply heavily ported problem is the STOCK vq35 heads flow as well as the RACE PORTED versions on both those engines, in fact they flow more then most v8 heads until you get to ones made for ~500 cubic inch street engines or ~400 cubic inch pro mod engines

also lets not get started on parts availability, the vg parts availability is about equal to the vq and the 6g72 is far far behind. also i went ahead and locked up the stock flow of the mivec heads since you seem misinformed, they flor 249 at .500 inch lift peak, 246 at .400 and 223 at .300. compare that to the vq35 de stock head that flows 275 cfm from .400 to .658, 265 at .368 and 250 at .300 mild porting puts them at the stock flow of vq35hr(over 300 cfm) and no one has ported hr heads noneed

Motors in these racing classes are nothing like you see on nasty street cars that you see perform in Standing mile or even the 1/4 record setting GTR's. Those GTR "race" motors can drive on the street. Assembled 6g72 iron block weighs 150 pounds 3.5L & 3.8L versions weigh a few pounds more. Block can bore .100" over no problems and does not need filling or sleeves or girdle improvements. Heads actually flow more in stock form and good luck keeping up with MIVEC heads. Ported vs ported same deal.

also with sleeves(needed to bust out this much power) the vq35de can be over bored to .177 inch(the 4.0/4.1 stroker kits use a 100mm piston over the 95.5, thats likely what this has.) although trying to compare a closed deck iron block to a open deck aluminum block for purposes of sleeves is kinda pointless the point is the vq35 has proven is can make as much power as the "big dogs" in the 2jz, rb26, and 4g63 world with just as much reliability if the builder is competed.

The e kanoo supra is making more like 2500hp. Stock displacement vq35 will make 1800+, I imagine stroker motors would be 2000+ capable

lol thats where your wrong unless your running a honda(dart makes a aftermarket block) or something like jgtc(completely different engine) these engines are the production block, some run sleeves(like this would have too) some dont. whoever told you that it weighs 150 lbs is greatly shitting you since the block itself weights that with nothing in it(actually just a couple lbs more) with a crank its up to 200, fully assembled engine no accesorys/flywheel is 350 lbs

The chassis will be completely different yes, the only thing that really resembles a V35 or a G35 is the rear end and the stickered grill. The fact of the matter is at the end of the day that power unit is Nissan VQ35 block. The same VQ35 block that is sitting in my road legal Nissan Skyline V35, Infiniti G35's and Nissan 350Z's. You have to respect Nissan for the ability to supply a small block V6 that can handle this amount of power.

Yes like the VG30DETT with a tune and better pistons the rest of the internals can handle 600hp. Tacking the crack shaft counter weight bolts would be a good idea if you want to do that tho.
