Considered to be world's richest temples, among the many dazzling architectural features of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple is the ornate gopuram or the tower at the temple's main entrance is something of unique construction. It has seven floors with a pair of window like openings at the center of each floor on its opposite sides. On the exact two days of the Equinox ( close to March 21st & September 23rd) one gets to see the Setting Sun aligned and passing exactly through each of the windows in roughly 5-minute intervals.
Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple of Thiruvananthapuram in South India is a fine example of exquisite architecture that blends Dravidian and traditional Kerala styles.

The Arabs were so outsmarted that they never again attempted southward route to India again The mighty Vijayanagar empire was formed by two Kannada brothers Harihara and Bukka The Vijayanagar empire stooped the Southern push of foreign invading armies for over 300 years

Given the great tradition in math learning in ancient South (Bhaskara, Madhava etc.) it is logical think Aryabhatta was born there! If you research the history of the basic trigonometric function “Cosine” you will be surprised where it was originated.

I was born and raised around the temple. As kid, white sand mounts in the temple premise was our favorite place for playing whilst our mothers were waiting for the aarti darsan. In 80s no-one knows that such treasures were hidden in there.
