Alireza Firoujza is down 50 points from his peak in Classical. Although this was a nice game, it still basically proves no matter how talented you are, unless you completely dedicate to chess, you aren't going to reach the summit. When Alireza became the youngest to reach 2800, I thought the World Championship would eventually be his. Now I am not so sure, if he wants to continue a parallel career in fashion design.

It is old news. Besides chess, Alireza Firouzja also has a parallel career in fashion design.. Maybe this distraction is why his rating has dropped 50 points since he became the youngest to reach 2800 in Classical. Incidentally, a similar thing happened to the strongest woman player in the world Hou Yifan. She's naturally talented enough that she's still highest rated with little practice, but not dedicating herself fully to chess is also, I believe, the only reason why she won't overtake Judit Polgar as the strongest woman player ever. Here, it may be the reason why Alireza may not eventually become World Champion.

Wow, what a nice sac. Is that a well known sacrifice line/prepared line or did alireza come up with it over the board? If fabi defended with Nf5 like you said in the game, is that winning for white or it's a draw with best play or what?
@TheProdef

Nf5 with a bishop on a7 is quite topical in several italian games. But of course this was a new position and Alireza had to calculate if it works here too

When Fabi played Re2, couldn't he have played Bxe5? Either Black plays .. cxe5, in which case they need to use the b pawn to capture on c5, gaining White a move, Black moves the Knight which relieves the threat of mate, again giving White a move. Also, if the bishop isn't captured, White would then likely play Bg3, which prevents the return of the Knight and blocks the g file at least a bit. I'm a terrible chess player, so I know I must be missing something, but I can't see what. You play Bxe5, Black plays dxe5, and then White plays d4. (I can't see how White can defend against .. Rd8 otherwise. So Black needs to play .. exd4, because if ... Rd8 or ... Re8, you play d5 and lock the black pawns and prevent the Rook lift. After ... exd4, Qxd4 ... and then what?

2nd: Hans Niemann = next Bobby Fischer --> please beat Gukesh so Anish/Wesley get in the candidates. Lol. No offense Gukesh! - Wesley So = current Bobby Fischer - Bobby Fischer's ghost = old Bobby Fischer - Beth Harmon = Bobby Fischer in another universe Each of these 4 'is a prodigy, had a rather dark childhood and is American'. Speaking of Wesley So Hikaru's (the rapid WFRCC) wife almost beat Wesley So's (the classical WFRCC) girlfriend! 2023 USCC - Indeed Carissa Yip won and thanked Wesley So as her secret second in the 2023 USCC closing ceremony speech. But in Carissa vs Atousa, Carissa was losing most of the game. Atousa just blundered in the end. move 54 for black is an 8-move equality puzzle it's so sharp [Variant "From Position"] [FEN "1Q5k/3r1rn1/p3N3/Pp1p2P1/1q2p3/1B2R2P/5P2/6K1 b"] 1... The inclusion of the times is nice and all but i would ask if ou could maybe make it less obnoxious... Like i find it hard to focus on the board because of the constant white flashing and flickering. Maybe have it so that only this little clock-symbol switches place. Thank you! Edit: It works on the later stages of the game where there is mre time spend to explain the moves so there isnt to much switching. But in the early game it is really streneous.

Agad is trying to save time on the clock. It’s an interesting dilemma: trying to save time and win the game verses taking time to explain the next move and the game to Agad’s audience. The more time Agad takes explaining the situation on the board the less time Agad has to play the game. Chess, as in life, winning is what it’s all about.

6th. Hey agad, go a little slower in analysis in your own rapid games. Newer viewers may not be able to follow as fast when you look over the moves . In particular, highlighting why some moves were losing for either you or your opponent. Just a suggestion.
@tomrejor4842
@tomrejor4842 6 ай бұрын
Tbf it's harder in your own game because you have to devide the time between thinking about what your playing and explaining what your playing. The more time you spend explaining the less time you have to calculate stuff, so it's a hard balance to reach to be satisfied of your own play while being satisfied of your explanations. Otherwise you need to play the game first then do all the explanations on top afterwards rather than explaining while playing.
