I’ve watched many Nick’s boots get made. However…I am still unable to make my own.

You’ll like,em,I’ve had mine for 8 months. Very nice for everyday wear really. I wear to work, yard work, walk dogs. Very little break in. I’ll have for very long time soles don’t even look like they’ve started to wear yet, and I wear all the time. I have the 1964 brown. Great Boots!

How long does that bench top last for cutting each section of leather? Is it wood?
Don't understand how you can stitch over the outsole threading when it's going to get stepped on.

I dont want to sound too heretical asking this, but did you ever consider including some simple comforts or modern technology in your shoes, maybe a soft fabric liner with foam on some areas, a membrane...maybe injection moulded soles? Nails have been used for shoes since before Christ, and technology has come a long way so there are other options than absurdly primitive nails and wooden pegs...
@Totemparadox2 жыл бұрын
Why would you want one of the only shoe companies around still making boots the old fashioned way, to make boots like every other manufacturer today does? Did you even think for a SECOND? What's next? You gonna ask Koenigsegg to make a compact economy car? THINK.
@tohellwithhandles2 жыл бұрын
@@Totemparadox No, you are seriously overrating Nick's to compare them to Koenigsegg. They are more like a Ford. You wouldnt expect from Ford to keep producing model T for a century, would you. Thats why i dont see why Nick's must be stuck on 1920 level of technology, apart from syntetic materials for thread and modern Vibram soles.
@Totemparadox2 жыл бұрын
@@tohellwithhandles Ford? You're an idiot if you compare Nicks to Ford. Ford is a mass producer, Nicks is not. Ford uses modern technology and techniques, Nicks does not. Are you seriously such a sad human that you want every company to turn into a modern mass producer of shit? The market is 99.9% the kind that you'd want Nicks to turn into so why do you want Nicks to turn into that? You want injected soles? Buy Red Wings. You want modern materials and light construction? Buy Merrell. Nicks is Nicks because of their products and manufacturing technigues. Their purpose in the boot world is to NOT turn into like every other boot and shoemaker.
