I know it isn't sexy, but grunt work like setting up a bunch of weather stations to record observations across a large area is the kind of thing that gets science done.

Keith and Brady magically switch bodies after touching a mysterious ancient artefact, cursed by the ghost of a rejected Royal Society applicant. Only by working together can they reverse the spell, uncovering a centuries-old deeply hidden secret that will blow everyone's mind and change the course of history forever. In the end Brady and Keith defeat the frustrated ghost, return to their own bodies and learn the meaning of true friendship.

I think that second dip was quite wonderful. Early establishment of weather system concepts? Is there a more commonly affecting thing than the weather? That and the introduction where a scientist has done some thinking - consultation and then experimentation which turns out to not help the hypothesis - wonderful! In science - negatives are also important.

Has anyone ever taken from the drawers along the wall? I feel like I see people try and do "random" but they always end up generally near the middle.

I agree. Maybe they should draw a repeating grid, (the drawer grid represented multiple times), so that blindly drawing a cross in that grid has equal chance of landing on a wall-adjacent drawer.

To be fair, she did pick from the top row, and the second pick was from the second column. I suspect she was semi-consciously trying to mitigate the phenomenon you refer to.

@teen-at-heart

:) I think with paper you often do not need to….I think they mentioned that once. But they do wear gloves from time to time, only more often with objects that are not made of paper.
@Varksterable
@Varksterable Жыл бұрын
It has been explained before, I'm sure. IIRC the lack of tactile feedback with gloves on often causes more damage than oils from the fingers do. Especially now we are all washing our hands about 20% of the day, according to government guidelines. Of course, this is highly dependent on the paper, the person, the item being handled, and a big bunch of other circumstances. The white gloves seem more ceremonial than functional, at least for most of the books we see here. For other items, the gloves are off. By which I mean they are often actually on. It's all a bit confusing, really.

Why are people touching 400 year old letters with their bare hands?
@CaptainHoratioPugwash

As I understand it using gloves tends to inhibit dexterity making people less delicate with the documents. I assume that you would be asked to wash your hands first to remove any excess oils etc.

Clearance is correct here, i think brady talks about it in objectevity #1. Also im not sure for these specifically, but sometimes the documents they look at are just reproductions collected into a book (i assume the original would have been on a roll of paper, not pages).
