Agreed, the more time went on the more I was beginning to take his side. Sure the speech play and stalling can be a bit annoying but I dont think he was actually doing anything against the game rules, everyone just hated his style of play and collectively decided to gang up on him. You'd think the rest of the table would've been a bit more aware and see the intent but instead they we're all just collectively whining and resorting to childish name calling, very bizarre.

People who defend Kassouf are weird. Like, I get that maybe he made others misplay by tilting them (although I didn't see much of that), but he definitely hurt himself against anyone decent at reading people and he's not "tilting someone" hoping they misplay by yapping at them when they're already all in like against Moss. He's getting no info (Moss is not talking) and not getting him to misplay (he's already all in). He's simply wasting everyone's time in an already too slow game. Even beyond that, getting someone to go on tilt by just talking endlessly isn't a skill - we can all do it, we just don't because we're not losers.

Something very hard, almost impossible, to remember in moments like this in every facet of life is that all mental faculties fall in a pretty tidy bell curve. You have a healthy middle ground of that curve who are completely capable of existing together, recognizing their own strengths and (maybe more importantly) weaknesses, and are driven to strive above with that information. Then you have the lowest common denominator. Those who are incapable of ever properly placing themselves amongst the spectrum of human experience/intelligence/ capability, and then to rise above. Instead, relying on nothing more than the purest level of dumb luck. That group, when just one single member of their ilk strike that perfect alignment of such dumb luck, can continue to avoid any semblance of existential contemplation for years or decades after thanks to that one "lotto win." Is exactly why America is in the state its in. Nothing but a nation of temporarily embarrassed millionaires who can never consider the fact they are actually stone cold morons.

Jack Effel is the worst TO and is horrible for Poker. Doesn’t even know the rules of the tournament, just steps in to either be the white knight, or to appease the majority (or the more known players). Yes, Will was taking excessive amount of time. One bad thing about this situation was that it was heavily edited for time, all of the hands are. So you don’t get to see just how long Will is taking for each hand. Any Poker player who has actually played in tournaments for money knows how annoying someone who wastes time is. It’s even worse when the player who is wasting time has a ton of chips, so it’s not like they’re even tanking to ladder up. He’s literally just doing it to annoy the other players and not only that, they see far less hands. His speech play is whatever. That is annoying too but it wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it wasn’t for all the time wasting. All that said, some of the other players were out of like as well. Like Josephy. And the absolutely moronic comment of “1 player per hand” has become iconic for one of the dumbest things a tournament I guess “director” has ever said, lol. Anyway, Will was annoying and took way too long. But no one handled it well on the opposite end either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Having 4.5 mil left is basically like having 500k left at that point in the tournament, so why not just call? Like why were you even in that hand if you were going to fold after making your hand? Wow that Obst fold was world class. Thinking about it though, he has the worst full house on the board. Ruane called his flop 3 bet, then lead the turn when the flush came in. That rules out a bigger set mostly. Then Ruane raises his small blocker bet all in on the river with hardly a thought. Logically a straight flush is the only hand that makes sense. Still, 99% of players are going broke there.
@Jermo484
@Jermo484 3 ай бұрын
Eh, it's actually not hard. If he had folded like JT or JJ, then I'd be impressed. People with flushes, especially non-nut flushes, don't typically go crazy on paired boards when pots get big. He's basically only ahead of the nut flush (sometimes, it might not even play that way) or bluffs.

@@Jermo484 I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s not hard but, like I said logically it is really the only thing that makes sense. So logically speaking it isn’t that tough of a fold. But folding a full house in the main event is not easy, and these things are always much harder in real time when you don’t know the opponents hand. But yeah, he’s not leading the turn with a set or J10, and he isn’t raising all in on the river when the board pairs holding a flush. Straight flush is the only thing that makes sense.

A bit less impressive fold of 7s full after folding that flush on river which was also legit but clearly guy tends to overfold. But calling his opponent hand a straight flush was really sick live read
