I had the honor of flying in a b-17 with my grandpa for his birthday gift from me to him. The best thing about flying in it was seeing him smile!! When the plane got high enough we could walk around check out the ball turret, tail gunner, and sit down in the bombardier seat and look through the telescope

If I'm being honest I would to see this video with the same p.o.v. but you can also look through the glass of the front cockpit of the plane at the same time. (Scene though the glass: flying though the storm while occasionally seeing land marks in the rain as you fly past them.)

B29s did loads of night raids. They started out 'precision bombing" in daylight, but that was ineffective, so they switched to low level fire bombing at night.
