Dr. Roy explains the some of the chaos in the the interwar years, with extra focus on Germany and Austria. In this talk he lays out more of the processes that led to WWII: awful choices, bad leadership, pettiness, and chaos.

Like many history fans, I’ve been hugely interested in WW2 since childhood. I studied the topic in school and in university. I’ve read at least a dozen books by proper historians: - why is it that, despite his biases or shortcuts, Dr Casagranda so often brings up perspectives and events I haven’t heard in the usual telling of events? This is such an interesting series, shame these lectures are so far apart in time.

Much as I like these lectures, there are lots of factual eerors in them. Marconi did develop wireless radio well before WWI. As an example, all major warships in the German and British navy were equippend with wireless radio, so were German zeppelins, larger airplanes and even some tanks. Maroni did the first wireless transatlantic transmission in 1902.
