Loved that your picks were not the usual suspects and they were obtainable. I'm on the fence with the wire works. Couldn't get as much out of it as others have. But the glass is superb

Winner for me is your pick nr2. I get sample of WW small batch, 46.2%. I didn't expected much but this literally blows my socks off. Such a tasty dram. Bit pricey but worth every penny. As you said its instant buy 👍. Kudos for you for all your hard work at EWA, Big Cheers. Watched it with pleasure, such a lovely ppl with passion and true enthusiasts like we, so all of us need to support them buying their stuff because them make whisky for us and these whiskues are soo good. Hreat video man! Love Westland. The Solum, Garryana and standard American Single Malt are great whiskies. Seattle isnt all that far from Vancouver, Canada so i visited the distillery this year and it was an excellent tour, highly recommend. Havent had a Wireworks yet so ill add it to the list. Great video, i thought you were launching another awards show. The best world whiskies i have had this year would be shortcross peated, bacones single malt and wireworks burbon cask. Havent engaged with teeling at all, with the sourcing issues etc

I can only coment on the Teeling. It reminds mi of the alcohol filled praline chocolates. I bought it for my GF because she likes the Jameson Stout, so I figured. But now she prefers the Redbrest 12. I haven't tried a lot of word whiskies this year, but the absolute winner for me is the Kavalan Podium single malt. Big tropical fruits on the nose an pallete, and very intense fo 46% abv. Cheers.

Love the video and choices. That Teeling Stout Cask I had years back. I thought it tasted nice but that's because it tastes like Guinness. I can buy a lot of Guinness for the price of that bottle.

Haven't tried any of those. The Teeling is the only one available here. It sounds like you prefer to drink your cake, not eat it. I am the same way with Christmas pudding. I don't like it, but I like those flavours in a whisky. Cheers!

Love the content Jeff - but FULL DISAGREE. that teeling is the 135 best bottle in my collection out of 143, according to my nerdy spreadsheet. Not a good ranking. I'll revisit it this weekend, but man was that a surprise. it was 39$ US and frankly, i felt ripped off. TBH, I really disliked my teeling small batch Single Malt, but did enjoy the black pitts, fwiw.

Do you get any "banana nut muffin" on the Westland ASM? I can't get it out of my head whenever I drink it. The "old" bottling before their rebrand had more of it, but I still find it on the current ASM. Love the video btw! Wish I could find Wireworks over here in the states

Not wrong there, sadly quite a few sub par releases too. For me my highlights have been the core small batch, Blackpits and of course the Stout! Cheers.

We can get it for £164 (€197) currently in the UK but as you said it is just far too expensive and no matter how good the liquid it would take a lot of convincing to put it higher for the world whisky of the year! It is a real shame how Irish Whiskey prices have sky rocketed.
