Hello Jon! I hope you are having a great long weekend! I love Glencadam 10. I love its lemony/green apple nose and ripe melon creamy flavor with gentle ginger spice finish. It is my biggest honor that I have been able to share my favorite whisky with you. Cheers Jon! 🥃

Happy World Whisky Day Jon. Glencadam 10 is one of my favorite ten year olds along with Arran 10. It's such a fitting whisky now that Spring/summer is on the horizon. I ordered a replacement bottle as well as the 15 year old recently. Cheers to the long weekend!

I agree, it really feels like a spring/summer dram!

Great video! I'd give the Glencadam 15 a thought as well - it's just phenomenal. All of the notes you enjoy with the ten but with some more spice and "depth of character" if you will. Cheers!

Sounds fantastic! Thanks for the recommendation

Glencadam 10 is an ace of a single malt whisky, well presented and very reasonably priced in the UK. A great summer dram imo! I'm not so well versed in Canadian whiskies but have had some experience in Alberta about twenty years ago, should have paid more attention to what I was drinking but that is the folly of youth! 🥃

Agree that Glencadam is a great dram and yes, would work so well in summer. Thanks for dropping in, I'm not sure what you were enjoying 20yrs ago, but the craft releases here have improved in the last 5 years. A least IMO. Cheers!

Very interesting comparison and sounds a bit like you'd expect from a Scotch (more rounded/elegant) vs. a North American malt (a bit rougher/more grain husky). I'd love to try some Glencadam but don't believe I've seen it yet here in Texas. Cheers! And good luck to your Oilers tonight!

The Glencadam was really good. As for the Oilers ... well, it's do or die of course. Should be some good hockey.

Celebrated in Saint John NB at Hopscotch with dear friends, one of whom is a young, up and coming, newly minted whisk(e)y geek. Ah, the joy! Got to babble Uisge Beatha for hours...marvelous. Checked out Green Spot Quail's Gate Irish, and Glen Garioch 12...two of the less pricey offerings on their menu, though great to try nonetheless. Both good drams, but it was the company that made the night special all round. I've skipped past Glencadam 10 at LCBO a few times, and now it's gone, so it's nice to hear from your perspective. The Two B's doesn't get out our way either, and that's okay too. I certainly don't need more at the moment. By the way, heard the Oilers took it that weekend. I'm sure you enjoyed the game! Cheers ☕☕ Marian 🇨🇦

The celebration in Saint John's sounded wonderful. Always great to be with friends and share a new passion or two. As you can tell, I enjoyed this Glencadam, might need to chase down a bottle. I did enjoy the win, the the game was a little less perfect! The next series will be lots of fun. Cheers!

Just FYI: Glencadam has actually been owned by Angus Dundee plc since 2003 (alongside Tomintoul since 2000) and has nothing to do with Chivas Brothers/Pernod Ricard or Ballantine's, whose main malts are Miltonduff and Glenburgie (along with Glentauchers and Scapa), at least nowadays. It used to be used for Stewart's Cream of the Barley, but I'm not sure how the change of ownership of the distillery affected that...

Wow. Good to know. I see my mistake now. I read it was a component of Ballantine's and made the assumption they were owned by the big group. Thanks for straightening me out.

@@WhiskyNeighbour It's complicated: before Angus Dundee, Glencadam was owned by Allied Domecq, but before the latter was bought by Pernod/Chivas in 2005. Still, I don't think there was ever any Glencadam in Ballantine's...

I have not tried Ballanties, so i cannot say how the blend comes together. This Glencadam is excellent though!

Oh no. Well, for me, I am certainly enjoying this release. What other 10 year releases are more to your liking?
