Mike was right about Iran. They had elected a secular government that sought to nationalize the oil industry so the US and UK supported the monarchy in a coup but then that allowed the fundamentalist to gain power and cause a revolution.

The fate of Iran is one shared all over the middle east. They did it to Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Basically every country in the region living under a dictatorship/authoritarian rule ended up that way at the hands of Americans protecting business interests directly or indirectly by stomping out socialism. This is why these countries despise the west and especially America so much.

Hear it from my Vietnamese friend who escaped the war as the communist north took over: "The communists wanted us to accept equality... they killed anyone with an education... on the spot. But the equality they offered was equality in poverty! And only the dictatorial politicians got rich and lived in mansions, ate good food, and drove nice cars. They are more equal than the rest of us. I took a boat to escape to sea because I would rather die at sea than to live under communist rule." At sea and almost dead with no food and water, he was later picked up by helpful Philippine fishermen, who took him to one of the Philippine refugee centers and later, he made his way to the USA... and is now a US citizen. He says he loves Vietnam, his own motherland, but he would rather be a citizen of the USA than to be a citizen communist in Vietnam. It's the same communist leaders hipocrisy in North Korea as in any other communist system.

To answer your question Dave at 15:30, USA forces has only stepped in to inhibit the SPREAD of communism, whether it be in neighboring countries, or Russia gaining influence. We wouldn't fight Russia to make THEM change, we'd step in to stop their political ideology from crossing borders that could affect OUR allies. This is how it has always been, and it's important because communism has actually reached our continent (South American countries like Venezuela) and it has seen the deaths 100 million people over 100 years. Of course America wants to keep it off it's shores/allies. That should answer your question. PS: Communist policies do exist in many countries around the world be it healthcare, welfare, and SS. These are piecemeal, and even then hotly debated.

Your statement is full of poop The American Global Elitist Political Leaders aka current administration couped our Republic by overthrowing our Government and fraudulently hand picking the NWO Globalist puppet ( dim witted as he is) to bring Communism to America. At this very time, American conservatives are in the throes of defending our Great Nation from communism. These Brits may soon see what it indeed would be like living without the help of the American military. This is why America is so close to having another civil war. The NWO Globalist puppet of Gates and Soros & Rothchilds who has created chaos , rioting , racism , funding BLM & Antifa to murder , burn & tear down our Statues of American Hero’s has been in plan for the last century. This civil war will be good v evil. Republicans v Democrats. Good will prevail, as over 75% of our citizens are awakening now to understand how the MSM who btw, are NWO Globalist have been brainwashing our citizens to believe O’Biden good, Trump bad. The Communist puppet in office trying to take our guns away will never succeed as the citizens know we will most likely need to defend ourselves from THEM with these very guns. The biggest majority of mass murder , school shootings and the evil going on in our Nation is funded directly by Soros, Gates & Zuckerbergs demonic plan for our country and then for the world. This is a world depopulation scheme. America falls first so that our military is wiped out and cannot help the other Nations of the world as this plot expands to their shores. Think Covid, the immunity destroying jabs, baby formula shortage, Govt screaming abort them babies, let 5 year olds have sex change operations, Destroy the Doctors who refuse castrating these young children, give hormone blockers to teens who refuse to be castrated, Bill Gates and China buying millions of acres of our farmland. Massive killing of herds of cattle & chickens, burning to the ground hundreds of companies of our major food suppliers, our corrupt Govt buying our farmers food crops last summer saying we will pay you more than fair market price. This Govt is starving & killing it’s people slowly. Yet here we are, with the evil liberals pushing this NWO puppet O’Biden to accomplish his death to America and it’s people. Civil war ahead. Gonna get rocky. Here’s something to ponder, will our military soldiers defend its countrymen from our evil Govt , or defend their evil government from its countrymen? It is going to come down to this horrible decision making by our soldiers in the next 6 months. BTW, stop spewing “one citizen one vote”. More people voted in 2020 than were registered to vote( proven fact)it was found that dead people somehow voted ( proven fact) handfuls of ballots were mailed to many democratic registered voters at one address, to be mailed back ( proven fact) proven that dementia riddled nursing home patients who could not even recognize family members somehow knew who they wanted to vote for. ( proven fact).Many people showing up at voting polls to find SOMEHOW they had already voted ( proven fact) Windows were covered after vote time ended on election night , but only in Democrat held cities across the nation. All these mentioned atrocities were kept from American public by the New world order puppets, the MSM. One vote, per person my a$$. Even the warehouse storage facility in Nashville TN that all the Dominion Voting Machines nationwide were taken days after the election was blown to smithereens a few weeks after the election.How dumb can liberals be to say, “one vote per person.” While smiling as O’Biden stands at his podium spouting Safest election in Americas History.

Why?: piracy and countries taking "toll", to operate in their areas/regions. We had agreements with said places, but...those agreements (paid to them), were broken. A question put forth was, "lets make a federal navy (USN), instead of paying others for "broken" agreements, the MED. The thing is...most peeps don't know the primary reason for the USN, is to keep the sea lanes open for fair trade. 2. What/is are the US Marine Corps and why they say "Dept of the Navy"??? Here's why, the Marines became the "personnel mounted" fighting forces of the Navy. Maintainers of ships are called Sailors, those that were brought by ship to go "hands on" against thieves (ship to ship, ship to shore), are in fact Marines, but still fell under the Navy...Go do, then come back, next!.

U.S. backed coup in my home country of Liberia in the 80s -90s ,overthrowing a democratic government for a dictatorship, in order to control the oil, lumber, and other resources, as well as stop communications with Russia. All led to a 14 year civil war, that completely crippled my home country as it was in its development. U.S. then backed out when the conflict got out of hand. They allowd a prisoner from the U.S. who was once working in Liberia's government to "mysteriously escape from U.S. prison " then traveled to Liberia and demand the president step down. After he captured the president he phoned the U.S. embassy to tell them the job was done. Since that day it has gone to shits.

For your answer to why communism is a dirty word to Americans (and I must say here that communism is different than socialism) is because in most communist countries on the granular level, if you are there and decide that you don't like it you CANNOT just leave. Their idea unfortunately is to conquer and control with control being a big part. (basically modern day colonization). For the US (a very very capitalist country) The stronger a communist country gets the weaker capitalist becomes and for the US that is never a good thing because of all of the human rights and free market rights that it strangles.

I think part of what made communist such a bad word was tactical fearmongering. You can’t make America hate Russia for their religion, as they’re Christians. Can’t make them hate their race as they’re white (in the western parts anyway). But make them hate the eco-political stance did the trick. When in reality communism is just as you said, a dicey promise used to control super poor peoples that has poor long term track records. That and also the fact that nearly every strong communist state seems to be unusually aggressive. Cuba, NK, Russia, partially Iraq, Vietnam... it’s not hard to root against the people who go on TV and say hateful stuff about you

After WWII no one had the ability to step up to the plate, and inter national bickering and squabbling would hamper quick action, something like the Marshal plan is done by a cabinet and a president with the stroke of a pen, and we had everything to make it happen! Generally, communism comes from the desire to control people ("if only everyone would share then we could all be happy"). While the initial desire comes from a good place, the base instinct is still control of others. Democracy, in it's purest form, is the giving up of that control and letting other people choose for themselves. Also potentially bad depending on the circumstances, but less likely to lead to genocide.

Fun fact. Those who think the U.S. invaded Iraq for oil (for profit) would be sorely disappointed if they looked up the oil exports in Iraq in the years following Saddams removal. The oil industry in fact had become so badly maintained that foreign countries had to help fund the subsidizing of the oil industry. Making oil in Iraq very cheap, but also making the black market very profitable. In fact Iraq had to import more oil than they exported. A major problem for Iraqis economy as the interim gov expected oil to handle a good portion of the problems in Iraq. Such as Electricity, defense of the borders, water, etc. The real reason (imo) the U.S. invaded Iraq is they wanted to remove Saddam before he received help to revive the oil industry and effectively making him impossible to remove. Saddam made sure the country would fail without him. He created a centralized regime where the gov is top heavy. Then divided the Sunni and Shia communities by abusing one substantialing more over the other. At the end of the day its up to the people to make their gov work. Can't do that when feelings are so high and opinion so divided that little to no compromise is possible. Just look at our gov in the U.S. where we have become so divided most centrists cannot speak without being tagged as "snowflake" or "Racist". But at least we have several branches of gov to protect us from one another.

People don't like to hear it, but a huge part of the reason that western democracies painted communism as evil is that the possibility of prosperity under communism was an existential threat to democracy. There was genuine fear that communism could spread to the west. As you said, "it sounds good." People are easily persuaded by the idea of egalitarianism. Turmoil and potential overthrow of western democracies in favor of communism would have been catastrophic in a way that we can't fully describe. It would have set back technological advancements by decades or centuries. It would have led to widespread poverty and famine in the west. These are the kinds of things western democracies feared from the spread of communism. And they were legitimate fears. It's hard to see it that way from the distance we are today, but the world would look unrecognizable if communism had been allowed to spread.

Part of the reason Communism is such a "Dirty Word'' is because we had something called the "Red Scare" here in the U.S. If you don't know what that is, you should look it up.
@Sprayber3 жыл бұрын
The main problem with Communism historically is its missionary zeal in exporting it around the world. The Baltic countries were forced into the Soviet system without any say. The whole Communism vs Capitalist is silly anyways. Countries have intrests and those don't always align with political ideology. Vietnam's biggest threat has always been China. Without the US, the Chinese and Russians would have been at each other's throats. Yugoslavia refused to follow the Soviet party line. Ideology does matter but it isn't the be all of what a country does.

The world powers and their colonial empire did a great job! They with their mutual defense treaties lead to not one but two world wars. The empires had to be abandoned, the world could not and would not allow for world war three!

If you need an elementary explanation of communism. Read the book Animal Farm. A general knowledge of history couldn't hurt either.

Communist Ideology preached of a world revolution, overthrowing the bourgeoisie capitalists and imperialists, so the united states, as the largest capitalist power felt like it was in the crosshairs of that revolution and so sought to limit the spread of communism wherever possible to prevent it from eventually overthrowing them.

This why they US and Canada need to export Moreno oil to the world including to the UK.

Moreno oil? I know the u.s. has started producing more of there own oil but I never heard it called Moreno

No. It was a democratically elected government that we overthrew for a dictator. The people thought they could only have private conversations about dislike for the government safely in houses of worship and one thing leads to another and ill just stop there.

I don't think this guy is really the best alt history to look at. You guys should look at the Whatifalthist channel instead. That guy doesn't do "what if the US didn't exist," as he agrees with you that you'd have to start much earlier if you wanted to not have a US in the 20th century. Instead he has videos like "What if the American Revolution Never Happened," or "What if a United America Collapsed in the 18th Century." He's got a bunch more interesting ones too, like "What if Argentina was a British Colony?" and "What if France Never Surrendered in WW2?"

As an Iraqi living in US Let me answer Dave question about why US or USSR have to export their ideology and fight the other's Answer : influence and alliance Imagine a world where all countries are communist but the US , the US will have no allies and will not assert influence or get much resources Not only that , but it will be slowly if not quickly consumed by the communists via immigration , media and cultural influence
@craigmorgan75582 жыл бұрын
If all other countries were communist. I don't think the U.S. would allow immigration. Every scenario has a twist.

But your right about media and cultural influence. That's happening now. Not for communism but for other reasons. I hope you feel welcome hear in America.

Well the USA was started to be separatists, much like Switzerland. However since the only DNA linked race to the USA is possibly the American Indian. It was very difficult to ignore the fact that this new experiment was made up of many, many different Races/cultures/Religions etc.. It was quite difficult not to get involved, especially since the makeup of those that invaded what is now the USA, where English/French/German.. or Western European if you will, we had no reason to get involved other then to pay back those countries that contributed to this idea. America became America because of the difficulty in fighting a long range war for those countries listed above. I wish we would just stop getting involved any further, meet our existing obligations but just stop being everyone's punching bag. I can assure you that if 911 did not demonstrate our resolve as a country( regardless of how divided we appear) I would love to see just for a short period of time us not getting involved and like the Gentlemen said,"Focus on our backyard". If we Americans' are as racist/hateful/ self centered as constantly portrayed and we have as many armed citizens as we do.. well I think the results would be much different than they currently are.

Communism has a evangelical bent to it where they have to spread it. Free countries can live with their neighbours living differently but communism cannot allow a competitive system...especially one that is more successful.

Dave, even if we forget about the moral/philosophical differences between the USA and the communists during the Cold War, the USA still would have done everything in its power to stop communism arising in the South American countries. Communism was spreading by direct and indirect influence from the USSR which means every nation to be taken over by communism would almost certainly have been their close ally. This would have placed USSR allies on the north and south American mainland and it would have placed Soviet nukes in close proximity of the USA and this would have been in worse than what happened with Cuba. Therefore even the USA had no moral issue with communism it would have still taken action for self preservation. It's the same to say that the UK would have gone to war with Germany even if they didn't have a moral objection to nazism and even if they didn't personally care about the politics of mainland Europe. The UK would have done it because they would know they'd be the next place to be invaded. The USSR liked invading things and controlling them, we know this because they started WWII with Mr. H and that useless Italian dude. We also know this because the USSR never let go of the Eastern European nations after WWII and held much tighter control over them than the USA did of Western Europe. We made NATO after all while to my knowledge no agreement was ever necessary between Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union because they weren't allowed to make independent sovereign governments.
@bobbimccain23852 жыл бұрын
Ok here goes, why do we have NATO anyway. Germany is totally reliant on Russias oil and gas, they are compromised to the hilt. There are also many other NATO countries compromised by their need of Russia. Not a single NATO country have paid their fair share to fund being part of NATO. Its nuts to think that America should defend the countries who attains so many necessities from Russia. These countries are lining the pockets of Russia, who in turn can use the the monetary assets to enhance their military capabilities against the Eastern World. Blokes you seem to have opened up a can of worms and It’s squiggly & icky in that can. No Country is perfect and each has sharp thorns in their past . Might want to lay off doing American Govt and military reaction videos because your stirring up hard feelings that are better off left buried .One last note here, the America citizens have no say or control over what our Government chooses to do, good or bad. We the people strive instead for enlightening & championing for Peace on Earth & goodwill to all.
