Northern Florida, a fisherman had realed in a BABY HAMMERHEAD SHARK, it was ONLY 1 FOOT LONG. He put it in the tide pool and as I watched it swimming around, I asked him if I could pick it up, it was so small, and seemed like if done correctly could be completely safe. I feel like I had the opportunity of a lifetime, picked it up and held it feeling suprisingly sandpaperish, and more than you might expect. I held it for a short time, and then not wanting to keep it out of the water, placed it back. I didn't have a cell phone with me as I had been walking the beach. Same day I saw a large horseshoe crab too. What a day not to have a camera, but I will never forget that I picked up and held a baby HAMMERHEAD, will never forget that! Never even knew they were that small to begin with, but now know what might be lurking the waters in a swimming beach, I was just a little ways down from on the West coast of N. Florida, just south of Jacksonville Beach.

I seen & rescued a medium size Sea Turtle the last time I was at the beach in Alabama,, it was flipped over on it back, stuck there & struggling to try to turn back over. It looked like it had been laying in the hot sun upside down for Long time, because it was all dry and It had alot of dry sand on it..... POOR THING... But I helped it, I turned it over very carefully, but it was soo weak from the struggle of trying soo hard & for soo long to try to turn itself back over & it had been out of the water soo long, so I carried it to the edge of the water & got it wet & sit with it so the water wouldn't pull it back out to soon, & it got better & strong enough to go towards to water on its own, WHEN IT WAS READY. Eventually it got it's strength up and moved towards the water & swam away🐢..🙌😅. I sit with it in the cool wet sand & putting water on it as needed, for a while.. I believe it might of got washed up with the tide that morning & flipped over, there had also been a pretty strong storm that early morning. But it was a TRUE BLESSING to get to help it & just sit there with it for a bit & then watch it go back into the ocean. I prayed for it to get all better & to be safe🙏 & I cryed😅 when it got better & swam away💓😅🙌💕🐢..🙏✝️👣👣 I was soo happy👵🙌😅😍😘🐢 GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Believe it or not, I found a swimming head, a Mola Mola washed up on the shores of Cape Cod after a storm in the 1990s. From a distance I first thought it was a Sea Turtle... then when I got close to it, not knowing what it is yet, I thought it was an enormous fish head severed off by some fisherman, but no.... upon further inspection it turned out to indeed be a giant Sunfish, the Mola Mola.... and it was indeed huge... amazingly the next high tide took back to the sea. A local fisherman told me that they are seen here sometimes and are mistaken for sharks with the large fin breaking the water in a similar fashion.

Poor animals getting washed up on shore :( The shark was probably killed by an orca, a certain pod of orcas eat the liver (the liver is 2/3 of the shark’s body). I’ve only heard of them going after Great White sharks, but I wouldn’t put it past the Killer Whales to go for other types of sharks

Two thirds of a giant squid's length are attributed to the tentacles. The main body is a third of the entire length. At one point, scientists were using the scars on sperm whales to determine the size of the creatures. They realized later that the scars would enlarge as the whale grew giving a false size estimate.
