This was when I went to go fly out to Denver, Colorado, where I went to stay with my uncle. So, before I even caught my flight, after my grandparents dropped me off in the airport and left, I just took care of the basics, checked in through security, got a quick bite to eat, and of course, went to go sit down as I awaited boarding for the departure of my plane. By the way, I was only 12 at the time, so I might have been too young to remember anything properly, as this was back sometime around 2005.

The wheelchair pushers aren't very friendly if you're utilizing that service, other than that it was fine. Love your videos Briggs. Notwithstanding, I disagree with the premise of the video. More people does not have to equal more problems. Cities like Tokyo are incredibly well run despite density/people. The problem is local governments not rising to the challenge to plan for growth (and at times, their NIMBY constituents with which they are too cowardly to disagree). I love Seattle, but the city, county, and state are mind numbingly stupid when it comes to zoning for dense urban housing and improving roads. Two things that would improve home costs and traffic.

I grew up in Miami in the '50s & '60s and it was a fantastic place to live. I moved away in the mid-70s to go to college, then moved again several times for jobs, all in other states. When I went back to visit Miami in the late-90s, I was blown away by the traffic congestion and general overcrowding. And like I said--that was the late 1990s. I can't even imagine how much worse it's gotten since then. One of Miami's biggest problems is that it has nowhere left to grow. It's hemmed in to the west and south by the Everglades and mangrove swamps, to the east by Biscayne Bay and the ocean, and to the north by already existing development. And let's not forget about rising ocean levels, which already threaten the coastal areas with routine flooding--something that never happened when I was a kid....

A large part of the crowds you see are not even people who live there but because of Berkeley's location, a lot of people pass through and come into Berkeley from neighboring cities, especially Oakland because as you mentioned, it's right next door. The city limits of the two go right through some properties in places. Santa Ana? All of Orange County is overcrowded. I live in San Diego and it's noticeable when I go there.

But now I still live in the same area. I went to a funeral during the fall on a Friday at 7:00 am. My god it took me an hour just to get through Los Angeles. I had taken my father with me, who is 91 years old. We had to go to Santa Paula which is a town in Ventura County. The traffic was horrible going and coming back the same day. I do not miss Los Angeles at all. I live in Orange County now, but it is getting pretty bad with traffic also.
