Today is truly back to school day Coach... I love footwork drills and the step and hit is so on point... Today is 40 years since the passing of Joe Louis... The Brown Bomber was probably the best heavyweight of all times based on fundamentals, and he never wasted a punch and ensured he stepped with them, meaning he was always perfectly balanced, so he could throw combinations if the openings were there.

Coach, in your exclusive boxing seminar “learn how to throw the jab”, you have the right foot and jab in Sync while going/circling right, as opposed to moving the right foot right then having the jab and left foot in sync like in this lesson. What am I missing?
@Mafiahic643 жыл бұрын
You made video two years ago that where he stepped back he threw the jab before he brought the left foot back. Now you say to bring the left foot back before you jab. Both seem to make since to me. But you were saying not to do it in this video. But in the one two years ago, soon as the back foot landed it was ok for the jab come out before the left foot came back. Talk about it….

Yea and there's a video where he is first stepping the the right foot back and then jabbing, then left foot then right hand. Im pretty confused haha

That is what separates a good fighter from a great fighter. Neither are wrong but it is your job to know when to apply the proper footwork.

Fantastic! The videos on this channel are worth their weight in gold. The way that the underlying mechanics that drive these movements are explained are top notch. I'm a trainer in my area of work, so I'm very tuned into learning styles and the way in which concepts are described. I loved the "hitting the baseball" analogy. This channel is a real gift. Thanks for sharing this knowledge with all of us trying to find our way!

an idea for next video. explanation or oppinion on power of mike tysons punches, or the techinque of his punches. there are a lot of videos on his defence-windshield wiper, and his strategy and style-peekaboo style,but i rarely see videos on his amazing power punches with which he knocked down a lot of his rivals during his prime. this is even more interesting when you see his size - because he was relatively short with short arms.

But first step if I want change direction gkin back or forward back foot move first forwad if goin forward or back if going back 4:00 movin forward : back moves first (goes back to place )becz I was throwing rt hand backward foot moving back 4:25 back foot not only goes back flat (no it goes back further too) 4:40 back foot not only goes flat goes forward too 5:10 maintain distance (not too close when movin back foot forwaed or back ) 6:15 when moving left and right (same concept pronciples Back foot moves to side first when first time changing direction ) 7:30 switches shifts in other video 8:10 practice it differense ways :shadowboxing 8:55 bring foot back 10:45 its not slide its step 11:05 moving left n right with just jab (both feet moves ) 11:45 but (when left foot land my jab land) 13:00 show again

Great video! It helps alot. I have one question: When going back, you teach that the jab should hit at the same time as the lead foot, but in this other video you made ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6Gbl4h5frR2a5o&ab_channel=WorldClassBoxingChannel ) you teach the jab hits at the same time as the rear foot. What is the reason for that? Kind regards Yaw

When should you step with the punches, and when should you throw them stationary?
@AltonCrooks3 жыл бұрын
I wish you had a video strictly on hitting while moving backwards. Everyone teaches forward movement. No one focuses on backward movement and moving backwards is more important. I wish there was a drill video on backwards movement A supplemental video to your instructional package focused on backwards movement, how to punch and evade attacks while moving backwards, would be great.

Did you see my latest release? Check it out!

@@WorldClassBoxingChannel I saw the video. It was good. You don’t see too many people do back and forth. But it would be nice to see a video that prioritizes backward movement

Awesome video! Honest question: If you're a short fighter, and have to clear a LOT of ground to cut off the ring, can using this, but with more of a gazelle punch and/or switching type of footwork be useful? If so, can you demonstrate how to do it properly? I feel like short legs, taking short steps, isn't enough to catch a tall, fast fighter on his bicycle. I'm trying to figure out the correct way to not stop the forward momentum and continue flowing through it. It seems like recovering the stance has a one-two-pause-one-two-pause rhythm, and on that pause, the opponents gone and/or countering.
