Pluging $4 billion into an S&P 500 calculator from October 2012 to now shows that a passive investment in the stock market would have been worth $18 billion. Today, Star Wars is squeezed into a four foot section between whatever Marvel crap isn't selling either. This is unrelated to the actual video, but related to the pop culture toy sales theme: my local comic shop (where I work) is having a big Spring Sale this weekend, and we typically do half-off on all 1990's Star Wars toys/figures under $100 (and usually 20 or 30% off anything over $100, respectively). Despite putting them on sale each time, I would say that we typically sell only a few figures at a time during the entirety of a sale weekend -- and I have yet to personally see anyone buy any of the SW Black Series figures when they're on that 20 or 30% off discount. We usually sell more Hotwheels and Matchbox toys (half-off) during those periods, but I'd like to just clear out either of those sections to include new products down the line. Oh, and the "Horror Aisle" as we call it is looking pretty barren right now. Can't imagine why, haha! Keep up the good work, Jeff, and thank you for yet another entertaining toy store excursion.

I really don't understand Disney's strategy with Star Wars and Marvel. They pretty much had the girl brand market cornered with their Disney princess line at the time as they had yet to fully embrace the woke and we're still celebrating classic feminity. They acquired Marvel and Star Wars because they wanted boy brands and then proceeded to alienate built in "boy" audience for a "girl" audience that doesn't exist or if it does exist doesn't pay money to watch their content or buy their merchandise. The thing is they could have easily adapted some book or book series from the star wars EU that took place when Ford, Fischer and Hamil were the ages of the characters in book and then recast and go backwards in time to heir to the emperor, dark force rising and the last command. It isn't like Lucas didn't jump around in time and yeah the prequels weren't as good as the classic trilogy but they blow the Disney sequels away but no they had to have their KK self insert Mary Sue who was the bestest evar and it was pretty much downhill from there. With Marvel they pretty much just kind of lucked into getting James Gunn to do Guardians of the Galaxy and he came up with using the infinity saga to tie his part into the greater MCU and it worked out. I mean technically with Black Panther 1 and Captain Marvel 1 towards the end of phase III they were starting to go woke with the pandering but honestly you could remove both films from what you would watch building towards End Game and really wouldn't miss anything. Post End Game they didn't really know what to do so they decided to pivot and do the M-She-U which could have potentially worked had you focused on popular sexy female characters and kept the sex appeal of the curves of these classic characters and paired them with recognizable legacy male characters that made sense keeping these legacy male characters the race and sex that they appeared in the comics but no it was raise every obscure and under performing feminist character they could come up with making them good at everything, while tearing down any male character in their orbit and having every plot revolving around the she-ro being affirmed. In the comics classic She Hulk was a popular character and if they would have made her show more like the comics (ditching the court room "comedy" aspect) and done way better CGI while treating Hulk and Daredevil with respect. (Had her origin be a blood transfusion from Bruce) and have her and Daredevil team up to fight crime instead of having Daredevil doing a walk of shame but I digress

Blackrock is in bad financial situation and it goes worse everyday. Same for all other ,,investment" companies who put message in front. Give it 4-5 years and they will be gone completly. And about toys well ... this year hasbro might cancel contract with Di$ney

If Disney wasn’t so stupid I would have been buying a lot more of the Star Wars comics and black series.

With how much plastic these companies are wasting you think they would lose the Enviroment part of the ESG score.

Don’t feel bad for Shang-Chi. He gets to be the most important card in Marvel Snap, a Marvel property that is actually doing well for itself because it’s literally just a game, it doesn’t have a story for Hollywood to screw up.

Weird. I thought they would make Capt Marvel strongest card and throw ,,colors" everywhere. Kinda suprised
