I'm not sure, it definitely looks impressive! It's not on the tentative list, so the Indian government hasn't submitted it for review. Maybe they will one day!

Such intricate carvings on a water storage facility? Imagine the delight of the people who uncovered it! I would have thought river silt would have actually eroded the carvings rather than preserving them

In a hot, dry and semi-desert environment, your water storage areas are likely to be prized possessions and well worth decorating!

Very disappointing , not even a single UNESCO Sites in Turkey? and considering most of the sites in Turkey much more diverse than some other replaces you see in Europe. better than blah blah cathedral and blah blah church. Cappadocia?? Pamukkale????, 12500 year old temple Gobekli Tepe???. Ani Ruins in the city of Kars????. Turks are queueing to get a train ticket to go to see Ani Ruins. You guys have been to Bulgaria and Greece. never occurred to you to cross the border to discover a bit different things in Turkey?? .anyways I thought i had to say something. I call myself a UNESCO hunter. Managed to see about 100 so far. One of the best UNESCO sites I have ever been to is Easter Island, Chichen Itza, Cartagena, Rila Monestary, Krakow, Angkor Wat, Robbin Island. Disappointing Lunenburg in Canada, Tarxien in Malta cos the original things are in a different museum, Tower of London, Liviv, Salzburg, centennial hall in Wroclow. in fact most of UNESCO sites a bit disappointing in Europe as they literally registered everything. it is hard to understand what the universal value they have.

Hi, thanks for watching and for your feedback as well! World Heritage Journey is still a work in progress and we've got a long way to go - still only at 430 of the 1100 World Heritage sites! We actually visited Istanbul a few years ago (before we started filming sites) and absolutely loved it, so I can't wait to go back. We're hoping to visit Turkey again either next year or 2021, and it's definitely top of the list for when we return to Europe! And yes I agree that sites in Europe are very over-represented on the World Heritage list; it's one of my biggest criticisms of it. The process for getting inscribed is long and expensive which makes it harder for less wealthy nations, unfortunately.
