Execution of Maria Mandl - Sadistic Nazi Guard at Auschwitz & Ravensbrück - Nazi Germany -Holocaust. Maria Mandl was 26 years old when Adolf Hitler annexed the Federal State of Austria into the German Reich. The Anschluss, as it became known, took place over three days between the 11th and 13th of March 1938.
In September 1938 Mandl moved to Munich and one month later she was deployed as a guard in Lichtenburg concentration camp.
On the 15th of May 1939, Mandl was sent with the other guards to the newly opened Ravensbrück concentration camp.
Ravensbrück, opened in May 1939, was the only major women's camp established by the Nazis. In total, some 132,000 women from all over Europe passed through the camp, including Poles, Russians, Jews, Gypsies, and others. Of that number, over 92,000 women perished.
Ravensbrück camp was staffed both by SS men, who served as guards and administrators, and by 150 women, who served as supervisors. . In April 1941, Mandl joined the Nazi party and one year later in April 1942 she was promoted to the rank of senior supervisor. In addition, she also selected women for human experiments.
From Ravensbrück Maria Mandl was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp.
She was in control of all the female Auschwitz camps and female subcamps and reported directly to Rudolf Höss - the camp’s commandant.
Maria Mandl got along well with Irma Grese, another sadistic Nazi guard, whom she promoted to the head of one of the Hungarian women’s camp at Auschwitz -Birkenau.
Maria Mandl assigned women and children to pseudo-medical experiments conducted by SS doctors such as Josef Mengele.
Maria Mandl also took part in selections on the rail ramp when the SS doctors made most of the decisions about who was qualified for labor, and who was killed immediately.
During these selections, Mandl tortured the prisoners in a cruel way, beating the women, the men and the children with a whip and kicking them blindly.
Mandl also took part in selections of the veteran prisoners to the crematorium.
Mandl is believed to have been directly complicit in the deaths of over 500,000 prisoners. After the war, one prisoner testified that Maria Mandl had said that a prisoner should stay alive six weeks at the most.
In addition to mistreating the prisoners, one of Mandl’s responsibilities was appointing the female prisoners to the camp brothel.
In April 1943, Mandl, famously known for her taste in music, created Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz which consisted mostly of young female Jewish and Slavic prisoners, of varying nationalities.
Heinrich Himmler was said to be a great admirer of Mandl’s orchestra and Dr. Mengele was reportedly brought to tears by some of their music. A French prisoner Fania Fénelon, sometimes had to sing and play to her in the middle of the night.
In November 1944 Maria Mandl was sent to the Mühldorf, which was a subcamp complex of the Dachau concentration camp.
The Mühldorf camps were established to provide labor for underground installations in order to produce the Messerschmitt 262.
Conditions at the Mühldorf concentration camp were dismal. The SS guards carried out “selections” at the Mühldorf complex in the fall of 1944, deporting hundreds of sick and disabled inmates to the gas chambers at Auschwitz. It is estimated that more than half of the prisoners held there perished following their deportation to the Auschwitz-Birkenau killing center or died on site from overwork, abuse, shootings, and disease.
In late April, as the US Army approached the camps, the SS guards forcibly evacuated some 3,600 prisoners from the camp on death marches.
On the 10th of August 1945, she was arrested and interrogated by the US soldiers. She was described as intelligent, sophisticated and cruel at the same time.
In 1946 she was extradited to Poland where she was tried at the Auschwitz Trial which began on the 24th of November 1947 and lasted one month.
On the 22nd of December 1947, the Polish Supreme National Tribunal in Krakow sentenced Mandl to death by hanging.
Her cruelty was once again emphasized in the verdict which said that "The accused even mistreated the female prisoners who had already been singled out by her on the selection path to death."
She was 36 years old when she was executed on the 24th of January 1948. Her last words were“ Long live Poland”.

It's the insidious delusional beliefs of 'white supremacy' that's the true evil that fuelled that war and the evil deeds these individuals felt justified in doing...and it did, is and will happen in every country around the world when insecure human beings choose to attempt to elevate themselves above others, merely because of the most superficial and moronic way to judge another human being...by the way they 'look'. We should never underestimate the stupidity and hatred of a bigot. Look at what's happening in America right now...a THIRD of the country have proven themselves to be bigoted racists who are truly small-minded, inferior human beings, with only their white skin and mutual hatred uniting them...and are progressively agreeable to becoming or allowing violence to further their deluded ideals of false supremacy. And these degenerates laughingly pretend they're 'Christians'...!?? Their beliefs are straight-up EVIL and they're just another branch of Nazis embracing Nazism...they just aren't quite as bad as the German variety yet...but they're well on their way.

Though not a totally comprehensive answer as to what makes a person this way, at least one way is that they were taught from childhood to hate the Jews and other minorities that were not Aryan. One is not born evil. Some may be influenced by their surroundings such as the public enemies of the early thirties during the great depression. Others like Charles Manson were never loved as a child and from the very beginning were abused and mistreated. Racism is something that is clearly taught and what you teach a child will more than likely be carried into adulthood. But no matter what the influence was, they still knew that what they were doing was wrong until after participating in these atrocities for so long that they finally seared their conscience to where they no longer really have one and that is when they become pure evil.

No. It was the racism and ethnocentrism of Central Europeans at the time, combined with their own suffering in the wake of WW1, and the Great Depression. There was a lot of pent up anger and hate in Mandl. Especially regarding women, pregnant women, and Babies. She and those other monstrous women Guards, like that one who killed herself in 1967, prove it was an overall societal issue, not just the cruel military, and leadership. This is what sets Nazi Germany apart from say, the Romans or even the Ottomans, the regular Roman or Ottoman citizen wasn't going to become some infamously cruel guard at a slave labor camp, and end up killing more people than a typical soldier. The SS and the Citizens like this lady were so horrible, the Military, usually the main source of atrocities were themselves dismayed by the brutality. It's famously known that as cruel and horrible the German Military was, they were surpassed by the SS and civilians. Later German Officers claimed convincingly enough to save their lives that they were unaware of such evil, or if they were, they actively opposed it. Given how they were willing to mercilessly slaughter enemy troops and Civilians, that's saying something. What is says is in 1933, something truly foul was up with the peoples of Central Europe.

You can believe in God because the Bible explains this evil. He created an angel, Lucifer, who was good and perfect, but became a narcissist (Ezekiel 28:12-19). He took dominion of the world from Adam & Eve, because they chose to follow him rather than God (Genesis 3). Yes, Satan now runs the world (Matthew 4:8-9), and people eagerly follow him, because they'd rather be their own god (which is narcissism, following Satan by copying him) than obey and be accountable to the real God. Like Satan, they make their own rules, they do what they want, and they seek power at the expense of others. This is why people are evil to each other. Why does God allow this? He has to, because He gave us free will (Deuteronomy 30:19). If He prevented us from doing evil, we would not be free. If He punished us for doing evil immediately, no one would be alive today (Romans 6:23). But take heart; this is only temporary. He will soon repay all evil (Romans 12:19). Follow Jesus, and you will experience a better world (Psalm 37:11; Matthew 5:5). Follow your own heart, and this world is the best you'll get (Jeremiah 17:9; Ezekiel 33:11; Rev 21:8).

Beauty is not truth; culture is not morality. What Hitler and the Nazis taught was that ONLY "superior" races could ultimately produce lasting, cultured, societies. "Inferior" races would dilute and compromise the Aryan race, thus limiting, and if left unchecked, destroying the german progress to social harmony and perfection. Once they accepted these false premises, the heinous conclusions that inferior races required extermination, and deserved ill treatment, worse than pests, follow in this perverted "logic". That's how you and I would react but apparently the Germans had such a psychological hold over the inmates that they did not think about it or were scared because they knew to control themselves because others would of suffered for behaving like that not just yourself. Also interesting to note as for the Jews there was only one or two out fits that organised in any real effective way to bring the fight to the Germans. They just meekly took the punishment netted out to them. Also if you look at old concentration camp photos there were only one guard per many prisoners possibly hundreds. I would of incited a riot with the aim of overpowering then even knowing one or two may be shot in the process. Also the Germans tricked them into thinking things were normal and they would shower and then get on with things not knowing they would be killed. Even when the train arrived at the camps there was a facade of normalcy like clocks and floral arrangements at the station to give the people a false sense of normalcy so they would not suspect anything.

You underestimate the effect ruthless bullying has on inmates who have to fear for their life at each moment of the day and the night. Torture, merciless reprisals, bestial conduct by the SS guards and kapos was of course meant to keep this mass of inmates in check. Also, all of them were chronically underfed and had to work themselves to death, literally. Where and when exactly would or could you rise against your oppressor ? The concentration camp system thwarted each possibility of uprising, it was specifically devised to do so. The only two uprisings typically occurred in death camps where people did not “last” long and were coined by inmates who got better food rations because they worked in the Einsatzkommando who retrieved the corpses from the gas chambers. They knew they would be killed sooner than later because they were Geheimnisträger (secrets bearers). So they had absolutely nothing to lose and they knew they were embarking on a suicide mission. Even then, the death toll among the SS guards was laughable compared to the one the rebels suffered. Ultimately, very few of them survived the uprising. It was a desperate move by desperate people and the outcome was tragic.

There were very few of the concentration camp people who stood up. Some groups of people don't do that very well.

I imagine the reason was physical weakness. By the time they arrived at the camps, they were already hungry and tired and it only got worse from there. They may not have been physically strong enough to take on the Nazi guards and their weapons, and just tried to preserve what strength they had left.

These videos perform a valuable public service. I have one complaint and it is over the clickbait titles you use. Every war criminal is "The most sadistic..." or "The most evil..." They can't ALL be the Most sadistic, or the Most evil can they? This is a serious and grievous matter that you cover with these short histories. I believe that it is incumbent upon you to deal with these issues truthfully and with integrity. Words are important. It demeans the topic for you to compete with cat videos and people jumping into snowpiles - which is the effect of the way you title these videos.

Also there are contradictions. The Nazis were bad but these videos exaggerate things I believe. Babies are killed ,women beaten up yet one women is taken to the hospital after attempting to straighten her curls in which she received a beating. Yet others are summarily executed or beaten and left for dead. In this environment you would think there is no need for a hospital except for the staff yet an inmatecwss taken to one . Seems inconsistent. I believe a lot of shocking things happened but they exaggerate for effect and their agenda. I mean she beat prisoners till her arm could lift no more c'mon really. Maybe a sound thrashing but till her arm could not move that would take hours going on how I used to exercise.

@@darrylkassle361 They Had to have 'medical facilities' of the most rudimentary type for the prisoners because the conditions they lived in were ripe for the outbreaks of diseases which were contagious, diseases like diptheria and typhus, which were easily transmissible to the guards. There were also classes of worker that they wanted to keep alive for as long as possible. There were also hierarchies of prisoners -block leaders, informers and collaborators - also specialist workers who were useful to the Nazis but some of whom also had to do manual labour - and injuries were commonplace. Easier to set a bone and give someone some weeks in the sanitorium than try to replace them and the skills theyd developed. The only 'exaggeration' was in the insistence of the uniqueness of the evil that the Nazis represented. Armed legions of sadists and murderers dressed in uniforms are still doing the same kinds of things (albeit on a smaller scale) all over Africa and the Middle East and so on. I remember watching on TV the Serbian camps and massacre locations and thinking to myself just how hollow was the claim of 'Never Again'. Its a worthless mantra if it only applies to an 'us' and we can shrug our shoulders and look away when it happens to someone else. But thats where we are I am sorry to say.

Boviss1, everything you said is on point, what happened in Bosnia, earlier with Pol Pot, & even some stories that came out of Guantanamo, I hear the script for zero dark thirty & the torture depicted to facilitate a means of information gathering was fairly accurate, never again is sadly a fallacy when the rest of the human race stands back & does nothing.
