Just watched Brass in concert show on sky TV,, I played cornet from age 8 to 14, my highlight, third place in the Scottish solo championship contest,, then I was seduced by electric guitar and went onto a recording contract in the USA with RCA records but at 57 now the love of brass never leaves me,, watching The Cory Band had me in tears with the Romeo and Juilet ,, absolutely stunning piece,,197 points!!! I posted this to compliment the husband and wife team,,, fantastic players, I have to say the chap on Euphonium, Glyn? is the best I have ever heard in my life, the tone is a gift from somewhere beyond,, I had some of the best times in my life travelling around with Dunfermline brass band in the bus lol,, So glad Cory band keep this music alive at a supreme level. George.

OMG this is a spine chilling performance. That mind blowing chord at 3.52 is just the purest chord I’ve ever heard in my life, and then it just gets better. We didn’t have brass bands sounding like this when I started playing in 1959. Absolutely amazing performance. Bravo. I’m Steve Anderson, retired solo euphonium player.

Just magnificent ! What a band ! They have been the one to beat for a number of years now.The dynamics on this new composition are terrific, the soloists were faultless no wonder they got the highest score in the contest. Y

I like that the way it starts continues on from the end of destination moon meaning you could effectively play the two pieces one after another.

@@samnoden2713 Dan is a great player, but l think he needs some more years under his belt before he becomes one of the greats, but he is without doubt one of the most promising up and coming stars. Has freakish abilities, but his playing needs to mature more so he is more consistent in his musicianship. Sometimes he will lash out and take risks which compromise his music making,ie, he has good days and not so good days. Glyn on the other hand has great consistency and seems to always have good days. Chris is certainly a very good player, but l haven't heard him enough to really know how good he is.

Phenomenal. First time I've had the opportunity to listen to the whole thing and .... wow! The control, the musicality, the technical prowess, the ensemble playing, like everyone is in the head of the conductor. I just love the emotion at the end of the piece from Maestro (surely he's earned that title by now, hasn't he?) Harper, the tuba player (I can't see if that was Rob or Tim), and of course Steve on sop.

Well, the conductor is also the composer, so it's quite obviously it's in his head...

Awesome performance. Gustav Holst planet like. Changing 5 over 4 bars. Harmonious, high and low notes, focus visible on each player. And look at the release of tension and gladness of the conductor. Inspiring piece of local culture. Greets for the hague.
