I got a lift from one of JB's drivers in a transit during this tour, at the start of the M1 in London. He said JB was the most dedicated and perfectionist performer that he had ever worked for.

I ran across a James Brown DVD years ago at a Walgreens bargain bin... Until then I'd only ever heard parodies from comedians and movies of James Brown... I was so amazed at the level of energy and utter perfection of their timing... Its probably still my favorite concert I've ever witnessed...

I am going to tell you what led me to buy the first CD of James Brown's music; it was 30 years ago, I only listened to Living in America on TV - One day I was traveling by train, and a man with a guitar sat beside me; he was a musician, and we talked; at one point he said something about James Brown - that people with no time would cross the Atlantic to be able to watch the first 15 minutes of James Brown's concerts live. And I, having only heard a single song of his, I immediately thought "I'm certainly missing something"; so when I was walking through downtown Lisbon I bought my first James Brown CD, it was the music in this video. I heard them once, then 10, then 100 and I must now be close to 1001 times ...
