Fitbit Inspire 2 / HR: Black Screen, Blank Display or Screen Won't Turn On? Try this First!

I show you how to fix (5 easy fixes) a black screen, blank display or the screen just won't turn on but you know the watch is one from feeling it vibrate or seeing the LED lights on the back of the Fitbit Inspire, Inspire 2 and Inspire HR. Hope this helps.

Thanks. This worked for me. Multiple attempts while plugged into charger. Maybe 10+ times. Also did it while unplugged. Also changed clock face. Some combination of all of this worked. Much better than the comments on the fitbit community forums.

OMG thank you so much! I only got my Fitbit 2 weeks ago so still learning how to use it. The screen went black after I water locked it. Wouldn’t turn back on. Just changing the clock face activated the screen again. Thanks again!!

Same here. Kept mine dry for some time until I learned you can get it wet. That's when the screen touch stopped working, then it went blank. Hope this trick works.

Thanks. My watch is less than a year old and never had any problems with it. But over the last month my screen has gone black twice and wouldn’t work. Putting it into the charger and holding for 5 seconds worked the first time but didn’t the next time so changed the clock face in the app and it is now working again. 😀

your first step( changing clock face) got the screen up and running. I do not, however have the flashing green light on the underside of my fitbit Inspire 2..and I can no longer get a HR from it. Steps are my main goal. Thank you

I tried everything you said and can feel you laughing at me while I tap tap tap on this piece of $#!* . Even after displaying the smiley face it still has a black screen.It's not even a year old. The whole fiasco started a week ago when the lighted clock would not go off. I had to take it off at night and put in a drawer because it was lighting up the room. Now its black all the time. HELP!

Yep. The screen died a couple of months ago. I have tapped and get a smiley face and then... Nada. Did it again heaps of times. Less than a year old. Wth!?

@@cathmcgrigor6779 I had figured out the issue. After contacting fitbit support I noticed when doing the steps the fitbit support wanted me to do I noticed condensation inside the sensor. The person helping me asked where I had bought the fitbit but I wasn't sure because I got it for Christmas. So instead of replacing it he have me a 35% off coupon to buy a new one. Hope this helped.

My fitbit screen had been staying mostly black for s couple weeks. Before giving up on it completely I decided to turn to Google and stumbled across this video. A combination of the charger/smiley face and tapping the hell out of all the sides of it is what worked for me. Hopefully this thing will last me a while longer.

Changing the clock face worked for me. 👍🏻 Easy fix now, but shouldn't happen. Seems like it happens to me when I accidentally hit lock mode, but then I couldn't get it to unlock.

I will try the clock face on Fitbit app next time. Black screen happened to me once in a while usually in the morning. Most recently I already left my home then realized the black screen and I don't have the charger with me!! After the latest firmware update (like almost 2 years ago?)
