Mine is not showing the charging animation no matter what, when I swipe up, it just flashes at 0%, the Fitbit app shows a red exclamation mark on the battery but no other details. I followed all steps multiple times and nothing, looks like the battery is dead.

Trick that we use for military devices to clean charger contact is to use a pencil eraser. Takes aircraft grease and sand right off.
