Toshiba Fire TV: How to Factory Reset without Remote

I cannot thank you enough for this video!! Our office had received this tv at the end of 2019. It stopped working around a year ago and I didn't know how to fix it, so I just left it. This week, I was determined to get it working in hopes to start playing music on it again, so we could give a good ambience when people are coming in and out of our office. I watched many KZbin videos and none were successful. I called Toshiba and Amazon and neither of them were helpful. I read countless forums and was becoming quite discouraged. I actually started looking at new TV's to buy. I decided to try KZbin one more time. I changed my search criteria a little bit and you were one of the first videos to pop up. Every step worked just like you showed in your video. Our office is sooo ecstatic that we now have a working tv!! Thank you times a million!! You have no idea how grateful we are. :) :)

I know you did this 4 years ago, but you saved my 2024 Christmas on my 75” Toshiba C350! Everything worked as said. The power button is cleverly hidden in the bottom back. Would never know it’s there.❤

❤❤❤Wow! only the logo would appear on my TV and it wouldn’t boot up even waiting an hour. I tried a whole lot of things other people suggested, but with this simple video I was able to successfully reset my TV to the factory settings, and now it’s on and working again! I really really really did not want to buy a new TV now, so thank you so very very much!

For anyone who's remote works on the TV after factory reset but doesn't want to pair on pairing screen, just hook up an ethrenet cable to the TV from your router and use the app and it will refresh and update and go to the menu. Then unplug cable then use the remote to connect wirelessly

I brought this kind of tv a year ago and just set it up and discovered the pairing issue. Best Buy told me they could not help and I would have to pay for geek squad service to have it looked at. I explained the tv say I. The box for a year and I’m just finding out the tv has issues. They I called geek squad, and was hung up on . I found your comment and tried this , and it worked. Thanks 👍

I sure do hope you are still answering these comments because you have been the best and easiest to understand that I've found. The screen says Our remotes won't pair after the factory reset and reboot. They are able to change the volume and turn the tv on and off though. Any suggestions?

This is very useful, but what I need to know is: where can I get a replacement remote that can actually pair with my TV after a reset? My kids somehow completely broke my original remote, it is done, and all the replacement options I can find online say they are IR only and cannot be used after a factory reset. I'm not sure if I'll ever need to do one, but I'd like a remote that can work after one just in case I do need to!

Hi, followed instructions for factory reset. Now I’m stuck on Searching for Remote screen. Tried 3 remotes - old one insignia which was acting up and basically dead , new replacement remote off Amazon , and insignia remote that I know works with another fire tv in the house. None will pair. I tried the suggestion of using Ethernet code to router and the Fire App to pair remote . The fire app pairs with the rebooted tv, but still cannot get past the “searching for remote” screen. Any suggestions? This is an Insignia TV. TIA

How do I factory reset with no video? I think I’ve determined that the backlight strip needs replaced (I can see some faint images if I shine my phone flashlight on the screen). I’m not seeing a button anywhere on the back of the tv. It looks like there is possibly a button built into the underside of the on/off indicator light at the bottom center of the tv. I want to factory reset before I take it to the recycling center. Model 43C350KU.

Hi. I did the reset like you showed in the video. But when it came to re pairing the remote, since I'm using a universal remote, it doesn't seem to recognize the remote...even though I used the remote to select the language. Syncing the remote works(the tv turns off and on again), but the screen is still stuck on the "searching for your remote" screen. Any advice?

Having an odd issue where remote works immediately following the factory reset, but WILL NOT pair. Almost as if every button works except for the home button to pair. Have tried many combinations of buttons. Any help is appreciated at this point before I lose my mind.

@@favourosondu5438 I fixed mine by plugging directly into router with ethernet. I had to go through the promts a couple times again and finally it moved past. Then i was able to use the app on my phone to sync the remote back up.

Got a Toshiba 32LF221U19. Got it from Goodwill. No remote. I bought two replacement remotes from Amazon. The remotes will not work. It would not go past the Pair remote screen. I was able to do the factory reset and wipe the tv; thanks to your video. HOWEVER, IT STILL WILL NOT PAIR WITH THE REMOTE. Super fresh batteries. I am at a loss for what to do. HELP!
