I show you how to permanently disable or turn off the pink mouse remote pointer on the LG smart TV Magic Remote Control. I Hope this help.

I've even written LG and told them that we won't be buying LG televisions ever again simply because of the inability to turn off the pointer.

remove battery cover, screen off, wait 5s, home button, pull up settings and get ready to click screen off, hold home and back button, click screen off asap and remove the battery, my screen turns on by itself, put battery in and click screen off again, now its disabled!! thank you

05 July 2024 with LG C3: This doesn't work. As soon as we press the Home button to activate the 2nd Screen Off, the remote's re-registration interrupts that screen off and that darn pointer re-appears. Hiding the remote either behind our back or under a pillow doesn't work either. Shortly after buying this television, I had a long conversation with LG who couldn't even understand that we detested that pointer and that it made the television experience horrible. They seem to do everything in their power to keep people from turning the thing off. I don't care what LG's INTENT is for the remote. We can't stand the pointer and there should be a simple option in the Settings to turn it off.

it works just pull up and hover screen off, hold buttons, immediately click screen off and remove battery

I can get mine to turn off and stay off if I remove a battery after I hit the screen off the second time, I can hit home and navigate, but as soon as I touch the center button it reregisters and the cursor comes back.

It didn’t work for me the remote did blink but then it said then I pressed home then it said successfully has been deregistered then a second later it says successfully registered

So I found that if you take the remote and smash it with a hammer and buy a universal remote...the motion annoyer goes away permanently...

Next to the wheel, there are arrows, up, down, left, right. We can use these arrows to make selections if the pointer is not visible. To restart the pointer first press the settings button on the remote (a star) opposite the home button (a house). On the left of the screen new icons appear and use the down arrow to select the bottom icon (all settings icon appearing on the screen). Do not turn the wheel but press the wheel into the remote and this will restart the pointer.

It worked for me first time. I'm not sure about the model / year or any details about my TV... However my remote looks EXACTLY like his and the settings and every step looked identical.

I got a LG B9 OLED and the home and back button alone disabled the pointer on my tv but if i click the middle wheel button at all it reregisters the magic remote, luckily i use my tv as a PC monitor so all the settings are already setup and no need to press the wheel button at all so it stayed disabled for me,

I got it to work - and with latest update on 2023 hardware. Do everything as described in the video, with one additional step: - when selecting Screen Off after disabling, PHYSICALLY HIDE THE REMOTE FROM TV (block its line-of-sight). Screen Off doesn't get interrupted by re-registration if done that way. Been running it without that cursed cursor for 4 days now❤️

I tried this out in the hall, out of line of sight, and it still re-registers it when I press screen off. what might I be doing wrong? or any other ideas?

Me too, as soon as i press the wheel it comes back on regardless of hidng it or not. So annoying, morons for not allowing an easy disabled option @SueH-bj4dd

@@SueH-bj4dd As soon as I pressed "screen off", I placed the remote behind me (as I was sitting on a couch in front of the TV). To ensure it works, I just repeated the process a few minutes ago. I think there must be some sort of radio in the remote as it moves the pointer even when not pointing directly at the TV. So putting large obstruction in front of it makes sense.

@@SueH-bj4dd Same issue for me on LG G4, I can't manage to hide the remote "enough", it seems to always manage to register it again, hiding behind me or otherwise. I even tried to throw the remote quickly in another room behind a wall, but somehow still registers. I guess I can't put it far enough fast enough...

@@Grouzy-I got it to work with some really stupid "hack". Instead of hiding the remote, before the "Home" button press to turn off the screen the second time, I took out one of the batteries. I had the battery cover open, one finger semi-hooked under a battery, and a split second after pressing Home I pulled out the battery. Give it a try if you still have this problem 😂

Guys it works. But you have to follow these instructions to the T. I tried 3x and figured out I was messing up at the wait 5 seconds then push the Home Screen. Also you must add the screen off option. My menu bar was full and I had to delete one of the shortcuts. Anyways I think the cursor is finally gone. It’s the most annoying tech ever! LG intentionally made it hard for ppl to figure out how to turn it off. For reference my LG tv is about 3 years old.
