@@BETTERWORLDSGT Actually, check out his build on the following 1969 episode of Daniel Boone: "Benvenuto . . . Who?" He is not really that 'big' (or tall) at that time. So I guess the attire one appears in, and/or the camera angles - in any episode- may be deceiving. But what a great 'fit-part' character for Hogan's Heroes!

I loved this video! So sorry that so many of them died way too young. 1968-1972 I worked on a Ford truck assembly line, right next to a former German soldier from WW2. We would talk all day, to pass the time, while working in automatic assembly line mode. I was fascinated by his stories of what it was like to be in combat, in the Nazi's Army. I'll never forget him saying to me "It was nothing like Hogan's Heroes"!

My mother acted opposite Werner Klemperer in Pearl Harbor during WWII. They were engaged to be married. They had a “secret code” to let each know they were looking for each other when being interviewed by the media “should the events of the War” separate them. They were, in fact, separated when Klemperer was sent on a South Pacific Tour. In 1989 Klemperer came through San Francisco with a Shakespearean acting troupe and the San Francisco Chronicle did a full page interview of him. My mom said he was using their secret code.

Sweetheart. Get a crush on someone else. There are plenty of nice actors from the show. Bob Crane was not a nice person. I suspect there is a message in there somewhere.

I am a German/ Bavarian decent I love to watch Hogan's heroes as a 70s kid. Bob Crane was murdered in Arizona at a motel and badly disfigured. John Banner I love how he says "I know nothing, I don't see nothing". Bernard Fox will always be Dr. Bombay on Bewitched as a wise cracking witch doctor. Colonel Klink a German Jew who played as a Nazi officer. In real life there were devout Nazis who had Jewish blood called Mischlings. Hogan's heroes was actually a great TV show in its heyday(1965-1971). Richard Dawson play in one episode on the Munsters, called Munsters Go Home. Herman Munster became an English Lord and terrible things is happening at Munster Hall. In reality RIP to all who passed on. 📺✌😁😊😄🎥

To everyone inquiring as to why Ivan Dixon left the show,I stated the reasons elsewhere in another posting on the show. But if you can't find it,Mr.Dixon left because he wanted to devote fulltime to producing & directing & he felt his Kinchloe character was a token & outlived it's usefullness.I was going to ask him about it when I met him in the mid 1980's at my late uncle Isaac Walker Jr's.drugstore.I didn't know the two were close friends.

I never felt Kinch was a token. He was a vital part of the crew and in many ways Hogans 2nd in command

I remember when this show was on, (my dad's favorite show) i was about 18 at the time, i would be in another room and as soon as i hear the drums i knew Hogans Heroes was on. For all those cast members who have gone and those still with us, thanks for the laughs, RIP to my dad and to those gone.BTW don't ever change the music.

I grew up watching this coing home from school brilliant. Nicely done I guess nothing stands still we all move on in some way or another, we all age.So the message I think should be try enjoy the moment embrace each day Try each day to be better person than day before, try enjoy life. (Of course can be difficult, it depends what cards you were dealt to start but you have some how to try)

I dunno, Larry Hovis aged really well. And he still had that same grin he used when he played Carter too! Like the same look to the smile and that mischievous look in his eyes.
