As a South African rugby fan my entire life, I went into this game not expecting us to win. But the Springboks are so much greater than their individual parts. And we play our best when our country needs us to. This was a magnificent game and both teams played their heart out. France was exceptional and it could have gone either way. That's the truth of it. The final we all deserved. It's a beautiful game. I'm overjoyed for my country. We needed this and have very little else at the moment. But France played beautifully too and deserve much praise.

this aged really well. the french couldnt handle the physicality of the south africans, as usual. Some players looked scared to tackle or run against the boks. At this level they cant be scared, specially against the boks. They will hurt you good, as they did. The Etzebeth try is a good example. Three guys could not tackle him. Loved how the crowd was silenced.

This is just the best sport in the world. Looking through all these comments, it’s incredible how this sports unites people. Comments from SA, France, NZ, Ireland, Portugal, Kenya, Argentina, Congo, Australia, Fiji, and all over the world. For the Springboks to overcome that challenge in front of all those French fans and a superb French team was unreal. France lost the game but they have hosted a great World Cup so far and 3 of the best games I can remember watching. Ireland vs SA, Ireland v NZ and France vs SA have taken this beautiful game to new heights. Seeing Portugal win their first game and Fiji play as well as they have was also incredible. Amazing!! As an Englishman I have to say Portugal winning their first match was amazing to watch….. and the two matches of Ireland vs ABs and France vs SA were just incredible….. felt like semi-finals to be honest! As a South African rugby fan my entire life, I went into this game not expecting us to win. But the Springboks are so much greater than their individual parts. And we play our best when our country needs us to. This was a magnificent game and both teams played their heart out. France was exceptional and it could have gone either way. That's the truth of it. The final we all deserved. It's a beautiful game. I'm overjoyed for my country. We needed this and have very little else at the moment. But France played beautifully too and deserve much praise. Please don't give up on rugby! You make the game better by being in it!!

The ref was not the reason you kicked backwards inside your own 22 and he certainly didn’t kick out on the full… watch the game again with the rule book… you will see the French got away with more … particularly at the breakdown. The last two games with Ireland and the All Blacks, France and SA have been the most intense brutal battles I've ever seen in my life, such great games of rugby to watch. The French made a major mistake playing their most talismanic and key player in a game they were never going to lose (Namibia 96-nil). There is no way his cheek fracture had healed by the time he played the Boks and even a modest impact on his game would affect the outcome in a contest as close as this. ​@@1991Mrcricketit's not a random draw, it's very much planned. Google it and there is a lot of info on it with people talking about why the draw is unfair. Draw was based on rankings 3 years ago because they wanted to be able to sell tickets early before people started buying tickets for things like the Olympics etc coming up next year. So basically the rankings in 2020 are not current. The draw would have been much different (and more balanced) if they had left it until late 2022.

I was on the edge of my seat for the entire game. It was neck and neck for all 80 minutes and could have gone either way, but I am really happy the Bokke managed to claw their way to a victory. Gutted for the hosts but they put up a magnificent fight in what was a match for the ages. I think this was one of if not the best quarter final rounds I have seen in a Rugby WC.
