I remember we all carried our own bags with us during school...some had dirt, some had beads, etc. And there was 8 minutes in between classes, we spent 5 of those minutes starting circles in the hallway. One funny story is we would outside on Earth Day and we had to do something "earthly" for an hour or so on school grounds. We had a massive 30+ person circle going and said we were promoting the lowering of emissions and use of materials by promoting a sport such as footbag. Shockingly, the teachers and admins just went along with it even though I'm sure they thought it was absolutely a ridiculous claim LOL. I never cared for playing red dot rules (if you touch it with your hands, you get beaned in the back by someone throwing the bag) but it kept things interesting!

I love footbag! I don’t know how they have fun playing like that though. It’s just way too many inside foot behind the other leg kicks. Do they even use the outside foot? Those are some of my favorites. I’ve been playing casually for 7 years and I can usually keep a volley going until I want to end it. But now for the first time, I’m wanting to actually grind out some new skills and moves and improve my game! I’m 25 now, hopefully this keeps me fit until i’m 70!

They are using 'hand-stitched 32 panel footbags', you can either google this to locate some online shops or try to find some stitchers in the freestyle footbag fb group or on instagram. A good footbag generally sets you back around 20 to 30 bucks. Most online stores sell cheaper footbags but they are no match for hand-stitched footbags in terms of quality, durability or playability. Hope this helps if you'd like to get involved :)

Kathryn MacDonald in competition, you play until you drop it. The longer you go, the better in most cases. You pass it back of the player drops it after 2-3 stalls.
