When he was saying he was willing to be monitored, get counseling and thanked him for 'setting him straight'... That was pure manipulation. Exactly what he tells his mom, whenever he gets caugh again. Then his mother sighs and says "You're a good boy, you just really lack judgement." Which is complete BS. When asked whether his behavior was right or wrong, he made a very sound judgment by answering that it is wrong. He's got judgment, he only lacks self control and humanity. He's a flaccid, vile snake and his mother is an enabler. He never suffered any real consequences, that's why he was so casual about confessing his past transgressions. Very glad he's in jail, they should throw away the keys.

Our small neighborhood just found out we have a registered offender, 2 time convicted for the same thing. And we've got over a dozen young kids here. They never notified anyone here, claimed they did, but it was by chance one of the neighbors looked up for any around the area and found this guy, free, on probation, with an extensive record going back to the 70s. Incredibly insane.

@brynion2117 that's cool, but assuming the person I was responding to is from the states, then it's incredibly likely the sex offender is ordered to go around notifying neighbors when they move. It's very common here for that to be part of the sentence handed down. Sometimes it's for a set number of years, but most of the time it's lifelong they have to register as sex offenders and make it known.

Um, dude? It IS a federal crime. That's why it comes with an arrest, a massive fine, and a permanent spot on the sex offenders' registry. 18 U.S. Code § 2251. EDIT: There's also 18 U.S. Code § 1591, which pertains to trafficking kids and stuff like that. All of it is a federal offense. Stay out of trouble.

You've probably had people mention Chris's new show on TRUBLU, but I also think Trilogy Media , Colorado Ped Patrol and Skeeter Jean deserve a shout-out. On a serious note, you're spot on about therapy for pdfiles. Not all of them are abusers, and they have very very limited spaces to discuss their disordered attraction to even begin to make safe mitigations in their life to protect vulnerable people in their lives without them just unaliving themselves in shame of their attractions. The only support they have right now are other pdfiles or abusers who *want* to abuse, and we don't want them to be the ONLY people they can talk to about this issue. We need spaces for them to get help, if we do more research and work on therapy we might find ways to stop them being attracted to people who can't consent at all. Wouldn't that be nice. Honestly fuck the ones who abuse, but for the PDFiles who don't abuse... we'd all be safer and happier as a wider community if we put aside the understandable ick factor and focused on making sure people are safe through preventative therapies if nothing else. Catch a predator reminds me of the days I was really young and in chat rooms that I shouldn't have been. The amount of older men that were ok talking to me is pretty gross looking back. At the time though I did have a lot of people reply "hey Chris" or something similar and I never knew what they were talking about until I got older and started seeing this show. They filmed a season of this show in my area around 2011 I believe? The woman who played the young girl was a graduate of my high school and they filmed it in an empty rental home. It was filmed in Lavelette NJ, and they caught almost thirty people. The scary thing was… only about half the men were tourists/out of state. I think they anticipated more of them because having 12-15 men from this area be bold enough to seek and meet these children. We’re talking about very small, sparsely populated towns. The towns that go down the shore in my area typically have less than 1000 residents. And there were over a DOZEN of them! Let this be a testament to teach your kids about the dangers of grooming long before they gain internet access.

This is the truth. If we really would like a world where we can give these people proper help WITHOUT judgment, like you said, we're all a part of the problem. We all love watching or making these videos and clowning on the dudes. Both for reasons related and unrelated to their inexcusable actions. If you think you can do something like erase judgment from the human condition, then maybe we could have proper help available that these people would voluntarily reach out to. Until then, the best way is educate that this is bad and to try to help after the fact because it's nigh impossible to get someone to admit voluntarily that they like this stuff and have the conscience enough to understand that that's a demon that they need to fight rather than embrace.
