@@fraz1412ok question… and this is no disrespect towards him or any snipers they obviously need hella skill. But why does everyone praise the sniper for shooting when he is basically being told where exactly to shoot and stuff?? I would have thought the world’s best sniper would just be able to look at the target anywhere and hit it?! Again I’m not trolling or trying to disrespect I just wanna know
@fraz1412
@fraz1412 3 ай бұрын
@@zzirfamo24 no worries, and I am also very uneducated on the topic myself. I do myself shot guns, and though what he is doing looks underwhelming, what he is actually doing is absolutely insane. The spotter absolutely deserves credit. I would take a guess and say most spotters are also former snipers themselves.so they themselves are very experienced and educated. I would say the reason the sniper gets the credit which I would agree with, is the same reason a sport player gets the credit and a coach gets less because the player is the one doing the action, and the coach is not. To harp a bit back on the actual shooting itself, no it is almost impossible with all given variables from that far to hit a target that is 1 foot by 2 foot. That’s is why you can hear them doing math and trying to gage the distance they were off. And they also usually catalog everything they do so in the future they can be a lot more close the first shot. This was a naked shoot so the gun was not dialed in as well as that is his first time shooting there. Also a little context as well, most actually shots from a sniper are not from very far away, they are very good at sneaking up to the target for less room for error. If per se two snipers are in a gun fight, it is almost like ping pong but backwards, miss miss till finally a hit. Again that is my very uneducated opinion but I hope it can give you a little clarification my friend 🙏🙏

@@nutcrackernoonan3637 It's very rare for them to be accurate(Taliban atleast). You focus on your breathing, and it's kind of an out of body experience. You don't really worry about being hit because they either don't know where you are, or are shooting at someone else (still usually just pot shots 85% of the time). It doesn't take a lot of contact situations before it too, just becomes background noise.. First few times it'll make you jump and can lead to an easy miss. But, you get used to it and can dial it in. As far as the heat.. Kuwait is kinda the worst...Not Afghanistan... but there are a lot of provinces in Afghanistan where it's really not bad, and winters are cold, it snows some just have Texas desert heat in the summer, some are more mild.... As cdr said above, I've had worse heat in Texas while at FT Hood, but the humidity part that's more near Houston. It was raw dry heat 105-110.

@@northofmainstreet7281 I watched this yesterday so can't remember for certain but I believe they zeroed AT 300 yards. That's sorta hard because an unzeroed weapon is gonna be way off at 300 so you've really got to do it almost 100% with the spotter getting good reads on bullet landings and calling your adjustments the whole way in.

@@ice2775 No, Tony is correct. We are talking about shooting, not stuff like choosing and developing a hide, collecting intel, or other tasks a sniper has to do. When it comes to shooting, civilians typically have better performance simply because they have a better budget and training time allocated to it than the average sniper does, as the sniper has many other skills to learn other than just shooting. Talk to any combat vet who has had a few years out of active service. They almost always say their skills as a shooter vastly improved back home than in uniform. The spotting scope is in a mil graduations, his turrets are in MOA. Hence why Tony thinks it is silly to ask for it in the spotting scope reading. The conversion is 3.6:1 so even then it really shouldn't be a big deal to convert. Although I don't really blame the shooter in this case, the spotters sucked. They gave vague estimations, and the shooter can't tell because at 300 yards it is too short, recoil is going to disrupt your ability to see splash.

Aaron Smith-Williams I know. Any decent shooter wouldn’t take that long to zero in a new scope an “elite sniper” should be able to do it even faster. 300 yard is nothing especially for a special ops sniper.

Shot #3 at 100 yards to confirm 100 yard ZERO. 1 MOA = 1.047" at 100 yards. 1 Mil = 3.61" at 100 yards. They are not interchangeable.
