My name Shea, and you're the first person I've heard care about quality in a long time I fired guys for leaving one shiner without fixing it that means Just a new shingle. I was about to ask if you're hiring till I heard 19 a sq. My dad was a Marine no leaks whatsoever is what he taught me. Thanks for the video it's nice to see somebody still cares about caring about the job you do.

19 per sq while shingling, hourly on tear off. I've had 70 sq weeks with 34 tear off hours. Just the shingle time was 1300 bucks lol I don't see the issue with a guy making 19 an hour and 19 per sq. Back then anyway. I only ever was paid 17 hr and 19 per sq lol

Fist off man thanks for all the videos. I've been learning a great amount from them. Is there any trick to shooting that nail for the chalk line to aim it right at the edge of the shingle like that? Your accuracy was nuts dude. Also when you open the bundle of shingles and slide it down your steps do you count based off the amount in each bundle? Looks like ya split it up in fours every fourth step I thought I seen you drop a couple more shingles. It would be badass to get on a roof with your crew and learn some real shit.

I was a roofer for a summer in 98'. After that I framed for 3 years and then went to paramedic school and joined the fire dept. I just retired and debating whether I should take on my roof by myself. 1800 sq foot home. A lot of the sheathing will need replacing as well. Guess it depends on how hard I want to work. I'm 50 and athletic but like a lot of guys my age, my back and knees aren't the best. I'd love to have this guy knock it out for me!

$19 a sq... I average 3.5 sq an hour on cut up roofs, 4.5 sq an hour on open.... 3.5 sq an hour x $19.00 a sq = 66.50 an hour. 4.5 sq an hour x $19.00 a sq = $85.50 (hour). Sounds pretty good in my books, pretty fair pay round these parts for just pounding nails.... every nails a dime, Ching, Ching...

eyemakepizza math is correct was wrong about bundles didn’t realize he said 46 square thought I heard Him says there was 45 bundles and 3 bundles equals a square. I don’t do roofing just find these interesting. I thought that seemed super cheap lol

Jakes 4g63 I worded that stupidly, sorry! Wrong math meaning you’re multiplying the wrong things lol. I don’t roof either I just randomly found these videos and started watching. Maybe one day this will apply to owning a pizzeria...probably not...ever.

Why am I sat here in the UK watching someone roofing, when in the UK we use slate or pottery for our roofing. The weird things that KZbin algorithms throw up, even the Mrs was asking what that strange noise was, it's just the sound of a nail gun...

Im not a roofer at all but I thought the white line meant no nails below that. i was under the impression the tar strip was where you wanted the nails to land. Is that a common misconception?
@NWIVeteranConstruction
@NWIVeteranConstruction 4 жыл бұрын
the white line means you put your nails there and there's no tar line to nail. that was 3 tabs. these are laminate shingles and your nails have to go through the common bond. as long as they don't show when you put the next one on you're good

Word of advice, if one of your guys falls and gets killed, OSHA gonna destroy you with fines for not having any safety lines. Your basically making a video showing you don't give a shit about safety for you or your employees
