I mean they are useful but I challenged a friend of mine to do a city vanilla ( he is a heavy mod user ) rather than lean on mods to fix bad planning. Turns out his vanilla city ran better because it was more effort to actually fix choices so he spent more time to make the choices work the first time. I will swear by the 25 city tile mod though, it don't change much beside giving you more space to have fun with.

Biffa, when I build my city in a grid style, I have game down the with that is wide enough for a single road. I do this to put bike paths in my residential zones when I don't use roads with bike paths. If you did the same, you could put the wiring for your cable cars down that empty space and just put stops at the intersections or even in the middle of a zone without hurting building. So maybe I can explain. Draw a road on one side, and you get zones that is 4 lines of squares. Skip 2 squares and build your parallel road. That will give you a gap wife enough for a single lane road and you can out your cable down that path and your building will be on each side of it. I can email you screen shot of an example.

I re-activated the mods. No losing conditions were set off. Yay!!! 👍🙂🌞😎 So I'm able use Traffic Manager, Lane Marking Tool and Node Controller in order to ease traffic, especially along divided 4-lane streets that need more median openings for Pedestrians and U-turns, let alone adjusting speed limits (some basic divided streets are better are better off with a moderately higher speed limit such as 60 to 80 kilometers an hour) To implement "All-way Give-way" (, or as I call it... "ALL-WAY YIELD" with Traffic Manager - turn off Vanilla traffic lights, implement basic intersection priority with TMPE, then delete TMPE signs, and then as added option; Open lane marking tool and insert give-way lines on all entrances to the affected intersection. Cheers 👍🙂 Keep up the good gameplay, Biffa. 👍🙂🌞😎

With your new area of the city, you could connect it to the motorway but only give it sliproads facing _away_ from the rest of the city, so that people from out of town can drive to it but there's no direct road access from the residential areas. Where you put the ski lodge overlooking the recycling centre, don't forget to add a footpath through to the cable car station, it looks like people might have got quite a long walk round to get there at the moment.

Some long, windy dirt roads could connect to the distant things (like ski lodges) to provide services but their speed is so low that the cable cars should be better for actually getting there. The same can be said for your new areas as you expand.

I think it might be safe to add a road to the double ski lodge (38:01). The point was to force people to use the cable cars. with the city ring now in place the few extra people that will drive down to the the two lodges will not be noticed. Having the garbage removed might encourage more people to visit them.

Maybe both? Res on one side, com/ind on the other...with a park in between?

I don't know if it's possible, but when building down in that valley near the logging you could make different height tiers with roads connecting up the slopes to save on digging all the way down to the starting depth.

If you make the new area commercial/industrial you could remove that kind of zoning from the old area ... And you can interupt walking routes by using sections of national road without a sidewalk with the area. Excessive use of toll roads make your highway less attractive while paying for more additional cable cars.

I wouldnt worry about too many full on separate areas, just build a city with the cable cars as the transport you will get the 500,000 just by making the city bigger and bigger, you need to get a high pop to unlock all the tiles anyway.
