Worlds Quickest 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 - Lethal Performance

Lethal Performance's Shelby GT500 has come back with a bang. Since we last saw it with its stock blower/nitrous setup, it has come back with a helluva lot more power. Built motor and a 4.0L Whipple and no nitrous, this beast screams down the track. Exact dyno numbers will not be released until later, but we can assume it is up there...
The 9.3 pass broke the world record for quickest 2013 Shelby GT500. These guys definitely know how to make a Mustang move down the strip.

***** They're heavy as shit, that's why. Keep in mind the "15% Rule" for tuning, which basically means on average, a vehicle loses around 15% power through drivetrain deficiency. So naturally, it's going to vary between mods and FWD, RWD, and AWD, but 15% is common ground. Now, if that's the case, Livernois Tuning (they have a video on YT) got 642whp and 573tq on a bone stock Challenger Hellcat, that's a baseline run, which means no tweaking, no mods or bolt-ons, nothing. So a 15% of 707hp is actually 601whp, which means the Hellcat is either making more power than advertised, or it's simply losing less through drivetrain loss. Problem is, Dodge has a tendency to make their cars heavy as all hell, and since it's got such a lower tq number compared to its HP, it's going to dog off the line, but on a roll, much more adequate to its figures. All I'm saying is, get that boat to Mustang weight, and it'll be a monster, even with the lower tq number.

And you dont necessarily need a suspension upgrade. The 70 mustang in the 7s had the stock leaf springs on it. just looked up the steeda front and rear disc brake upgrades from cjponyparts and the front is $2400 and the rear is $540. Add roll cage and suspension upgrades needed to have a track car as good as one of those drag cars and it gets pretty expensive compared to drag racing. found ford racings front and rear brake kit for $2000 though its the cheapest.

Love the new cobra but a 4.0L whipple on 427 LS block with good ported 2 valve heads and all the supporting mods would do just the same power wise for less money i'd guess. 4v heads geat really pricey, but then the Shelby comes with forged internals and ls doesn't

Don't know how much power this puts out but I remember Carrol Shelby saying the new 5.8L should be comfortable at 1000 hp. I know Hefner performance saying they had no need building the 5.4L because Ford definitely did there homework. So tuners..... tune away.

Ok this gt500 has heads, cam, and a bunch of other mods. Same mods as livernois minus the big 4.0L blower. Add that big blower on the livernois ZL1 and it'll run 8's

You can't "over buy" these cars...they are limited production runs. These are not run of the mill GT's that everybody has. That is a GT500 Shelby, and it's had 10's of thousands of dollars worth of parts put on it on TOP what the car cost. I wouldn;t even wanna think about the planning, and research that went into matching parts and picking the stuff then tuning this thing and tweaking it afterwards...that would be hours and hours for months worth of labor. Yeah, a bunch of friends probably helped and a lot of it was probably done for the love of it, but it is still very expensive, and time consuming to do this stuff, and especially on a brand new car, because a lot has to be learned when you are dealing with cutting edge tech like this.
