WorldSkills Mastercam Tutorial | Finishing Operations for the First Side

This episode looks at using some of the more traditional toolpaths, like Contour, Circle Mill, and Pocket to finish the features on the first side. This includes a Contour to finish the outside profile and the center slot in the pocket.
For the Contour toolpaths, we examined the Lead In/Lead Out page which helps with safe tool motion entering and exiting the cut. We created a Circle Mill Toolpath to finish the center bore in the middle of the pocket. We explored the Semi-Finish and Finish options in the Circle Mill Toolpath, to fine tune the motion of the toolpath. Finally, we created a Pocket toolpath to finish the pocket on the first side. Using the Finishing options inside of Pocket, we were able to ensure full material clean up.
