I feel as though people don't talk about Hawkins enough and how good it is to see him playing at the level he's at. He's won four rankings events, reached a world final and continues to hover around the top 16 in the rankings. Okay he's not in the elite bracket but he's won more ranking tournaments than the likes of Dennis Taylor and Alex Higgins (I know there are WAY more ranking events these days but those two players were considered two of the best of their generation)

„Shock!“?! „Top-players exit York!“?! Ok, O‘Sullivan dropping out in round one was certainly not expected, but he’s having an abysmal season so far and Barry certainly is no flunky. What else would count as a shock? Murphy tightly edging Zhao? Hardly. Gilbert beating Xiao? Not necessarily. Ding coming from behind against Milkins? Has just won the International Championship in the same manner 10 days ago, and Milkins has had an awful season until now, so no. Surely not. If anything could be considered „shocking“ then the quality of the session before the interval. That was brutal to watch. So the video description is a bit over-the-top, overly sensational, isn’t it?

I was asked had Ronnie won. When I said he'd lost and that he'd been 4-2 ahead and that it made no sense. Their reply: The Asian betting market". Ronnie may have taken a dive??? The guy, who hadn't seen the match, even said that there was a century break and probably a 90 too. The big money would have gone on Hawkins at 4-2 down??
